Does anyone have experience with labradoodle a or goldendoodles? Our family dog passed away last year and now that our littlest baby is 8 months we are thinking of getting a dog.

A family member has one. They make great pets as they are friendly, smart and good with kids...I think they are hypo-allergenic as well but I'm not 100% sure on that part.
p.s. Sorry for the loss of your dog! Its always SO hard when you lose a pet!

I am BIG fan of anything poodle or mixed with a poodle. Depending on where the genes fall a poodle mix is more likely to be hypo-allergenic and they should shed less or not at all.
I am actually allergic to dogs, but I used to have a poodle and was fine with her (she was also the sweetest, smartest dog ever. Just like a little baby). After she passed we got our two lhasapoos, which I have also been fine with. Neither of them shed either.

I've had friends who had them and they were always sweet dogs. Like others said, they usually don't shed, though I guess it depends what genes they get from the poodle? I personally prefer random mutts (like a random mix of breeds) but if there are allergies involved, I think labradoodles are a great option.

We have a 6 month old golden doodle!! Like any puppy he is a handful at times (hyper!) but he's a really good boy. It's been over two months since an accident in the house, and he barks at the door to go out (so great considering our other dog just goes to the door without making a sound usually).
He is still jumpy around kids because he gets so excited, but I think if we had a LO he'd be more used to them. He went to puppy school and that helped us with techniques.
He is chewing a lot right now, but as long as we monitor him he's fine! Since about night 5 at home with ushe's slept through the night in his crate without a peep! He is still in there at night and when we leave the house.
Let me know if you have any questions!!
