I'm putting together a baby shower gift to send to someone, via Amazon. I would like to choose a book to add but I'm drawing complete blanks on a good one that she might not have received (her shower did the whole, book instead of a card thing). She's having a boy. Any thoughts?

Steam train dream train is a popular one on here but not necessarily very common. There is one called something blue truck. Lol

The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton. It's so sweet and I think it's a little less ubiquitous than all the other shower classics--The Giving Tree, Madeleine, Olivia, Richard Scarry, etc.

I love everything by Oliver Jeffers. How to Catch a Star and Lost and Found are good ones for younger LOs.

The Giving tree, where the wild things are, Boom Chicca Boom Boom (board book). I loved getting The Night Before Christmas as a board book.

@LCTBQE: yes. This is a family favorite. The story is really similar to how my Grandmothers house was moved from the city that was built up around it to a beautiful lot in the country. My Mom & I gave the board books to each household in my family (17) for Christmas with the story of the house in it. I'm going to start giving that for showers, great idea.

We like Mem Fox's Time for Bed and Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes. Karen Katz' Counting Kisses is also a fave. Sandra Boynton is a popular pick and while I don't love her, my youngest is obsessed with Barnyard Dance.
We got a lot of duplicates of the classics from my shower, so if include a gift receipt if you go that route.

Corduroy, Guess How Much I Love You and any book by Mo Willems, my daughter absolutely loves these books, they make for a sweet giggle right before bed time..talk about fall asleep happy..

I love not now, Bernard. A little dark but hilarious (you can find readings on YouTube - I showed a colleague and she immediately bought for her toddler son)
I also love twinkle twinkle it's a what, by A C Brown. Cute story with a good message and pretty pictures.

I 3rd (4th, 5th?) The Little Blue Truck book, DS's absolute favorite at 13 months. He also loves the Poke-A-Dot books, maybe something that they wouldn't have already gotten?
