I am excited to go to my parents house today. Besides spending time with them, I am looking forward to some Christmas cookies. I was lazy and didn't make anything this year, a first in a long time.
My Mom makes these candy cane cookies, like a shortbread, that are my favorite. My Aunt is bringing some puppy chow (chex, peanut butter, chocolate and powdered sugar) over for me, yum!!

Rum cake. I made one yesterday and it is so delicious and indulgent (which is why it is only made once a year). Luckily tonight is the night for the get-together.

I like peanut butter balls, and this almond pastry thing my mom makes...I pretty much like anything with sugar in it

I'm Jewish..... so on Christmas I love to eat Chinese food. Not sugary sweets. Weird because I love love love sweets..... but it's just not my tradition!

I loooove peanut butter balls and these little almond-flavoured Christmas tree cookies my MIL makes. I can't wait to pig out tomorrow!!

Egg nog but really try to limit it because it is soooo rich ! And my MIL always brings a caramel chocolate covered apple for me each year that I always look forward too !

I love Christmas holly. I don't know why, since truthfully its not all that great, but it just reminds me of Christmas growing up. It's like rice krispy treats, but made with corn flakes, dyed green, and with 2 red hots for the berries.

I love buckeyes and fudge. I'm not making them this year though. Buckeyes are too time consuming to make with a newborn to care for.

My grandma makes these cookies that have miniature candy bars inside. She makes them every year. Buckeyes are another huge favorite. I tried making them myself this year but they didn't turn out as good as my grandma's.
