For those with 2 year olds and above. What are LO's favorite outdoor toys? LO's birthday is in April right when the weather turns nicer so I want to add outdoor toys to her wishlist.
I am thinking a 3 or 4-1 trike, slide, some age appropriate pool toys.
We are thinking of possibly buying or building her a outdoor structure.

We live down the street from our elementary school, so we go to the playground there often.
Big things are the slide, the rope web and these things that look like firefighter poles that spin around in a circle.
haha, since you edited, we have a pool and a sandpit in the back of our house. We also have a tricycle and a soccer ball with some cones. Oh, and one of those tee ball stand things.

all of those are great, but the toy our kids enjoyed the most was definitely a sandbox.

@locavore_mama: not really since it's outdoors. they could play in the sandbox in all kinds of weather too, so it got more use than our pool, water table, etc.

That boat looks super cool! I want one for our yard too, but my husband isn't handy!
The biggest pain with the sandboxes is covering them so cats and birds don't use it as a litter box. And you have to deal with some sand on your lawn, which could be annoying.

@looch: good point. I will mentally note adding some kind of way to easily attach a tarp/cover for when we're not playing with it. We actually have a huge concrete patio area before the grass starts so that won't be an issue for us.

We have enjoyed a sand and water table a lot, but we only fill it with sand. Also, my DS still loves his push buggy. Sidewalk chalk is very popular, and blowing bubbles. I'm trying to get him to use his sister's old balance bike but he's a little lazy.

the push2 buggy and a spray bottle filled with water.. she loves watering the plants and helping me "clean" by wiping down everything! anything with bubbles too! she's also a huge fan of watercolor painting. i really liked mrs. bee's recent blog post about those water paints… i may have to get some.

My mom got two cool things from Little Tikes -- a putting set and a bowling set. Both fun for outside and portable to boot.

Hands down - her scooter! She's still riding it now in the winter. In the yard, a watering can. And they have tons of fun with the lawn sprinkler too.

She also has a ton of fun with bubbles, running thru our sprinklers and playing in the dirt.
I've been tossing around the idea of a swing set for this summer and/or a sandbox. I'm worried it will get used as a litterbox though. We've got some sneaky cats and raccoons in our neighborhood that would be able to get a lid off!

So, we don't have many outside toys but our inside toys that he loves are:
balance bike
scooter
tricycle
crazy coupe
t-ball (we got the 3 in one that shoots the ball)
toddler basketball hoop
soccer ball set up
playhouse (gets used when little girls are around mostly)

ETA: In all seriousness maybe that will be my mom's gift to her. She always gives me $ and asks me to buy her something.

I second a sandbox! Ours has a canopy which was helpful so the kids weren't in the direct sun and the sand didn't get too hot.
Other outdoor toys that were great were a pool by one step ahead that could be flipped over to be a little trampoline. DS loved it. A bubble machine has been great too.
