So glad to have finally decided to get my mirena removed tomorrow. I've had it for almost 18 months and have started experiencing things I think might be related--back pain, nausea...Did any of you experience relief from symptoms once you had your Mirena removed?

Yep. Bloating went down and I felt less in a fog. It was a relief for me!

@mossyslane: I only had my Mirena for 6 weeks, and I couldn't take it anymore. I had terrible back pain, bloating, acne, etc. etc. My body actually rejected mine & started pushing it out - not fun. Within a few days I was back to normal, thank God!

@Dandelion: Yes, fog is the word. Ugg! I'm so glad to have it out.
@photojane: That's great to hear, though I know it must have been awful at the time. I still can't get over how much of that is not published--when I told the ppl at the Drs. office, they were kind of like, "whatever" about it

@mossyslane: there is a month or so od being out of whack. My boobs swelled about a week after it was out and I really though I got pregnant that fast.
But after a couple months it feels way better.

@mossyslane: When I was having all of my symptoms I Googled & found tons of women who were feeling the same as me. It totally scares me now!

@photojane: Yikes--I know, have seen some of that on google--some of it so scary--really makes me untrusting of medicine for awhile.

I was also bleeding/spotting for the entire 5 months I had it in. Two days after I removed it, all bleeding went away.

I'm getting the skyla after this. I'm hoping the smaller amount of hormones won't make me feel as crazy.
