The f'ing neighbors are settin off fireworks and just woke the baby. They aren't illegal in TN but can I call the cops for noise disturbance since we are in a suburban subdivision?

No idea, but someone's setting them off here, too -- praying we have LO's white noise up loud enough to drown them out

Ugh. That sucks. I have no idea if you can call the cops. I know in my city noise can't go past your property past 10 pm. I haven't heard any fireworks in my neighborhood yet. I'm dreading them.

Now I'm happy they're illegal in My state! I think if they keep up past the noise ordinance then you certainly can!

I just tried calling the cops and there's a recording saying that hold times are expected to be reeeaaalllllly long. I gave up because by the time I get through they'll probably be done anyway.

@MamaMoose: I would say do it. They are illegal in Davidson County. Unfortunately, they aren't illegal in my county. Good news is they cause enough disturbance, I can call the cops.
If it makes you feel any better my (*insert expletives here*) neighbors set off some right in front of our house where DD is and woke her up, crying and screaming too.

I just called my police and apparently it's totally legal for them to shoot fireworks up - regardless of the fact that it scares my children (!!!) - until 10. FML. Half an hour to go.

Im in TN too, and I know a lot of times they're illegal locally - by county or by city... Or there could be a noise ordinance in place.

@Mrs. Yoyo: yup... Lots of rain. I'm not too bummed since we are laying low at the house anyway. We may try to get to our pool club if there's a break in the storms but it's looking less and less likely.

I have no advice re: the cops but fireworks have been going off behind our house for the past few days. Can these people not read a calendar?! It isn't the 4th of July yet!
