I had one tropical barbie that my parents bought me..
If LO wants a barbie or an American Girl doll we'll get her one for her birthday or something.

I had some of my moms hand me down barbies from really early on. This past week, DD (22 months) found some of my nieces hand me down barbies and she loves them. We also have a toy Jessie (Toy Story 2) doll that she likes. The Jessie doll is nice because her clothes don't come off and she has less of a figure.

I definitely will. I LOVED Barbies! I had a gazillion + her car, house, pool, etc. Everyone always gave me Barbie stuff for my birthday & holidays. And, I don't have some sort of complex from playing with a doll with boobs.

My mom wouldn't let me have them, said they didn't give healthy body image, etc. Never honestly bothered me & I never felt deprived...I did end up getting one as a birthday gift at one point. Will probably look into other alternatives for a LO.

I have a Christmas morning picture of my dad helping me open a Barbie. I looked to be about 3. That's actually one of my fab pictures because the gleeful anticipation is all over my face.

I think we will skip Barbies altogether. I don't mind dolls, but Barbie is a woman.

My mom bought me my first Barbie, I believe she was a Skipper doll. My DD already has 2 Barbies, gifts from relatives. She is almost 5, but shows no interest in them whatsoever, so they are in a closet for future play if she shows interest. She is much more interested in her baby doll at this point.

My first Barbie was Beauty Secrets Barbie . . . I *puffyhearted* her so hard! I learned how to French braid on her. I would buy LO a Barbie if she wanted one.

I never had one. And I won't be buying them for Vi.
