Can you believe how fast these birthdays are coming?! I think we're going to do a 'one-derland' tea party. Might change my mind between now and then though!

We are just doing a simple, modern theme with colors and patterns. However, if he was a girl I would totally do a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme just so I could use this dress!

We did something pretty specific to DD: a rainbow themed party because she was born during Hurricane Sandy, so she was the "rainbow after the storm."

We did a red & light blue circus theme (little boy). We had a tent in the backyard, and rented a vintage style popcorn machine.

OK so now I feel less crazy for thinking about Jack's first birthday..when he's 7 months old baha. At hobby lobby the other day I saw a whole section of cow print and barnyard theme..SO.FREAKING.CUTE! We'll probably go that route!

We did You Are My Sunshine, since we sing that song a ridiculous amount of times during a day.

We did superheroes. Loosely.

I'm thinking of doing an Apple theme since her birthday is in September!

My daughter will be 1 this weekend. Her party is mermaid/under the sea cause she is obsessed with fish. I'm really excited to finally see it all come together. I got tons of cute and cheap ideas off of Pinterest! Maybe I'll remember to share some pictures on here after this weekend.

We did a rainbow-colored polka dot theme!

We're doing a safari theme because I saw a bunch of safair theme items in the clearance bin for $0.97 a few months back (e.g. paper plates, invitations, napkins, cups, happy 1st birthday banner etc.). why not! Just gotta come up with food and additional decor. I'm hoping to keep it somewhat simple since it's a 1st bday, but our friends have kids so I'm thinking I'll need to come up with some activity for them...

We're doing a vintage book theme. Think Dick & Jane type items mixed with pastels and lace. Most of the things we're using are either DIY or purchased from Etsy. The party is next month, so I'm really starting to get nervous about the DIY stuff!
