What did you eat first thing PP, and what was/is your dream meal PP?
I just made a huge mistake and did some research on sushi places and italian sub places near our hospital and am not STARVING and craving things I can't have. 
I'm also going to pack a can of chef boyardee ravioli in the event that I give birth in the middle of the night and nothing is open!

haha I ate peanut butter crackers..it was 9:30 at night and that's what my mom brought in her bag. I got breakfast in the morning though.

Graham Crackers and ginger ale. I actually had no interest in food for about a week after delivery. My mom and husband had to force feed me.

I had juice and graham crackers I think? I refused to pop a pain pill on an empty stomach and that was what the nurse came up with. First real meal was breakfast from the cafeteria, which I remember gobbling up.

My dream meal PP is a big seaweed salad with crabstick on top and two orders of spicy tuna rolls! If I feel sick or nothing is open, we're bringing a bunch of snack type stuff like peanut butter crackers and coconut water.

It was almost 1 am till we got to our room and I got to eat - it was some nasty meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy but I was soooooo hungry that it was absolutely delicious. I thought I would send dh out for sushi and subs but just ate whatever hospital food I ordered at meals!

@tororojo: juice! for whatever reason, those little individually sealed cups of juice were SO GOOD after I delivered. I downed a couple apple juices. haha.

Technically it was applesauce, and a bite of mac and cheese. I wasn't allowed to eat until like 6 hours post-delivery, so I knew I needed something in my stomach but was still feeling sick (I threw up--a lot--during my L&D).
Later that night, though, I sent DH out to get me a sandwich or burger (I didn't care, I was suddenly famished). It was around midnight but the hospital cafe still had food (like out of a chilled case). He brought me back up the most amazing turkey sandwich I've ever had. Like really...it could have been a piece of turkey on white bread, no condiments, and I would have scarfed it down and proclaimed it awesome, but this really was amazing. Whole grain bread, oven-roasted turkey, fresh tomato, fresh arugula, mayo and whole-grain mustard. It was the most perfect sandwich I've ever had. I dream about it sometimes.

I told my husband that I want a large pepperoni Dagwood from Penn Station and a Coke Speedy Freeze after delivery. I miss pepperoni sandwiches, and while I've enjoyed a freeze or two so far, I usually feel guilty for 22oz of slushy goodness.

My dream meal is a big plate of raw sushi and a beer! My BIL has promised me a 6-pack of my favorite waiting in my fridge, but who knows when I'll actually fit in time to have one! I will insist on the tuna rolls though

It was after 8PM and the nurse brought me a turkey sandwich and granola bar. I would have loved a burger from the restaurant down the street!

I had a hospital cheeseburger with fries, side salad, and some sort of dessert (I can't remember lol), and all of it tasted SO good at the time. I'm pretty sure I could have eaten anything and it would have been delicious!

i cannot even remember! I have no idea. hospital food.
i was SO hungry after 23 hours of labor and no food that you could have put a piece of cardboard in front of me and I would have eaten it.
I do remember the most AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS gingerale I had immediately after i delivered, and another one back in the recovery room.

I wasnt allowed to eat for 3 days so had a grilled cheese on my birthday....the only vegetarian dish the hospital would make

@sorrycharlie: Oh yeah! And drinking juice out of a tiny little plastic cup makes me feel so classy, too. Cran-apple was what I got; I think apple was all gone!

I made my friends pick me up a quesadilla and queso & chips (no margaritas to go, booo!) from my favorite Mexican place down the street

My husband brought me a side order of my favorite fries from our favorite little Irish pub down the street. I'm pretty sure that was my first "meal" then I had hospital food that wasn't all that bad. Tilapia was one dish that I remember.

I delivered a little past 5:00am, and our hospital has sandwich boxes for mamas. So I ate half a sandwich and some chips (after almost 24 hours of no food), then I got the hospital breakfast.
My friends brought over In-n-Out, so I had an amazing lunch!

I had a Big Mac and fries from McD's. I was pretty upset when they forgot my milkshake. It wasn't really what I wanted but it was on the way for my stepdad to pick up on the way to the hospital.

I ordered a grilled cheese, baked lays, diet coke, and a cookie from the hospital. Then that night we orders Jimmy Johns cause I didn't want hospital food.

It was 2am when I got to my room so they gave me a turkey sandwich. You know, the hospital type with thick slimy lunch meat and dry cheese. After labor it was the best sandwich in the world! I would've loved to have a firehouse Italian sub though!

After giving birth to LO, I was so disoriented, confused, and tired that the thought of eating didn't occur to me even though I'm sure I really was starving. I only wanted Gatorade. This time around (I'm 20 weeks with LO2), I told my husband that the second I give birth, he is to go out and bring me a platter of sushi and a bottle of whiskey (I don't drink whiskey or any other hard alcohol but for some reason the only things I crave right now are really bad things I'm not supposed to have).

After my first birth the assistant at the midwifery cooked me my requested breakfast even though it was like 1pm. After my second birth I ordered some fruit and milkshake then had chicken and mashed potatoes. Wasn't so bad for hospital food.

The hospital kitchen was closed at 7pm when I gave birth, so the nurse brought a basket full of snacks (fruit cups, crackers, etc) for me to choose from. Once we got set up in our recovery room, they brought me a box lunch - lunch meat sandwich, chips, fruit, cookies, and a juice cup. That was like the tastiest meal ever! I still think about those box lunches!
