18 months. Rio 2. She did well but we went to a kids showing where it was expected that it would be loud so I didn't worry. It is one of her favorite movies now.

She was 2.5 and we watched Frozen! We lasted an hour before she got antsy, but she was very quiet and calm for most of the movie. The popcorn helped, she definitely loved that!

I took him to turbo during the free summer movie day - he was 2 and he was antsy the last 30 minutes. I want to try again this summer when despicable me 2 comes out.
I saw my first movie when I was 4 or 5, it was the lion king!

@Espion: Ha, mine was ET :silly:. DS doesn't have enough attention span yet for movies. I wish he did!

@ShootingStar: I think mine might have been ET too and I'm LOLing how old I am because Lion King came out my first year of college!
We haven't taken DS yet because he can only get through about 45 minutes of a movie at home.

Mine was Pinocchio during a theatrical re-release when I was about 3. I remember being totally spooked by it, but excited to be at a theater. My 2.5 year old can watch an entire movie, but he likes to be able to move around, so I'm not sure how he'd do in a chair for two hours...
I think I was 13 when Lion King came out!

we've never been to a real theater, but we've watched several movies charlie's old elementary school. Charlie was 4 and Olive was 2 then. They did great and I think they would both be fine in a real theater at 5 1/2 and 3 1/2, but we haven't been yet!
Oh and my first movie was Baby Secret of the Lost Legend (dinosaur movie) when I was 5 or so!

My parents took me to see Superman when I was an infant. The first movie I remember was Big Bird's Follow that Bird when I was 2.5. I was so scared of the bad guy and that Big Bird got lost.

My 4 yo has still never been. He is terrified of animated films, so I think it's going to be a few more years.

We took LO to the live version of Cinderella, it went well, but she loves movies and sits still through them - she was a couple months shy of 3 when we took her.
My first theater movie was the original Land Before Time!

@Espion: @ShootingStar: Mine was also ET.
Our kiddo is 2.5 weeks old, so, no movies yet. But, if a weekend ever comes where sweetie and I have the energy for it, we plan to go to the drive in with him.
Lots of people have suggested that newborns sleep enough that we could go to the regular movie theater with him. But, his sleep/eat/wake intervals are irregular and unpredictable. Doesn't seem much fun to pay for three tickets to a movie only one of us would see.

I *think* mine was Fantasia. My parents said I was terrified.
I just took D to his first movie last month. He was 2 (27m) and we saw Home. He did really well - sat the whole time and was pretty into it. I think it was a good first movie for him - there were no scary parts, and lots of fun music that he liked to dance to. He giggled out loud a few times.

DS was 4 and he saw Turbo - loved it and went well!
DD just turned 4 and I am taking her next weekend to see Home

He was 6 months! We went to a parent and child screening of the new Cinderella movie.
Apparently my first one was the Aristocats. It must have been re-released because I wasn't around in 1970 when it was made.

2.5 cinderella live action. she did not sit still and wanted to leave before the movie ended.
We went to the first showing on a weekend and there were a lot of kids there. Next time I will not come early for the show and come right when it starts so she has more of an attention span.

@miramira: We just watch Aristocats last week on Netflix and he loved it!

She's 5 and recently watched Cinderalla in the theater. My son (3.5) hasn't been to one yet.

@miramira: I'm pretty sure mine was aristocats too. It must have been the same rerelease since I was born in 84.

@sometimesshesings: I was obsessed with follow that bird too! Back in college I even went and downloaded a bunch if the songs.

We went to see Lego Movie when he was 2. He did great! Didn't make a peep during the movie and like @birdofafeather 's LO, still loves it to this day!
ETA my first movie was the 1983 re-release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. I was 3.

We took our kids to see Paddington this past winter. Worth adding that our kids are 3 and 5, but can't sit through any movie without getting insanely scared. We have tried all sorts, but they prefer Daniel Tiger, Paw Patrol and that kind of thing (except they looooove Frozen). But with us by their sides, popcorn in hand, we made it through! There were definitely still scary parts, but we did it! The girls were 5 and almost 3 at the time.
