Having heart palpitations....tested with FMU today and digital (my last one in the box) was negative. FRER still brings up a line, but I'd hope it would be darker by this point. I'm sitting here willing the clock to tick faster so I can call my OB and get blood drawn.
**I am not complaining, I am GRATEFUL for BFP, but fearing it isn't sticking.....thanks again to everyone for your excitement. I feel it and send it back to you as you wait for your own pretty pluses**

@ChiCalGoBee: Wasn't on HB this weekend, so happy to see a BFP for you!!! And fx that everything will go well for you. It's normal to be super worried, but you will be ok!!

@MrsHansen82: I'm going to test on Wednesday. that will be 14dpo and due date for AF. I don't have a good feeling about it though. I thought AF had arrived today but it hasn't thank goodness. still got a little bit of hope. I had a good chat with my DH and he is being much better now.
@ChiCalGoBee: I can imagine you are feeling very nervous but I'm sure it's fine. Sending lots of positive vibes your way x

@ChiCalGoBee: The best advice I can give you is to step away from the pregnancy tests (easier to say than do, I realize). I drove myself bat sh*t crazy with those things - it all depends on dye count and even now at 16 weeks pregnant, I don't feel confident that the pregnancy test would be dark enough or darken fast enough to my liking. Digitals are SO finicky. If I had all the different tests, I would take them to make you feel better, but unfortunately I don't. But I promise you that I took one at 10 weeks (after I had actually seen bebe) and it looked really suspicious to me - not dark enough to my liking.
All this said, you are pregnant today, regardless of what the stupid digi test says. Don't miss out on the fun, excitement, and sheer joy of the first few weeks because of worrying!!
nectarine / 2079 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: You got over the trickiest part and are pregnant right now. I'm not a believer that FMU is the best to use + digitals are a two step process aka two opportunities for it to fail. You may try opening up your digital and seeing if you can see a line on it if that will help reassure you. As hard as it is, try to believe that this is it for you and this is your baby and let the possibility of loss sit at the back of your mind.

@ChiCalGoBee: You are pregnant and everything will be fine. Sending super positive, sticky vibes to the little bean!

@Radish: LOL. I can just see myself taking a hammer to my someday digital.
nectarine / 2028 posts
@BakerBee, @radish: thanks so much for the reassurance. I didn't even consider taking apart the digitalis but I did! Photo below. Lower is from yesterday which was positive, upper from today was neg. to me yesterday seemed less positive than today so I'm not sure I trust them!
Doctor update: got in with internist today, and did PG urine test. She initially said it was negative, then her nurse came in and said its "very slightly positive." Not sure what that means . She then said my home tests could all be "false positives" or I could be miscarrying. I haven't much liked my internist before now, and this was pretty much the nail in the coffin...no matter what.
Regardless, they did a blood test so I'm now going to be waiting and watching for my phone today.

@HolisticMama: thank you! The support is much needed an appreciated-I cannot even tell you. This limbo (and the doctor's negativity) is making me so low, and I'm trying to stay positive!
@mrslilac: thanks so much-I can feel them!
@theotherstark: I needed to hear this, thank you. I so hope you're right!
@snowjewelz: Thank you, friend!! FX you're right !

@ChiCalGoBee: I'm so so sorry that your doctor is being negative.
I wish I could come over with some of my favorite hot tea and we could take a nice relaxing walk outside.
What do you do when your soul need a little recharge?
Those digitals sure look pretty darn positive to me.
What are you up to today? Do you work outside of the home?
nectarine / 2079 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: Those look pretty positive. Ugh, that appointment seems to have been less helpful than the tests. There is no way you got false positives on that many tests. Just remember it is early and everyone's body responds a little differently to pregnancy. I hope the blood test comes back with good numbers.

@ChiCalGoBee: Aww, girl. I'm sorry about your doctor! Hoping you get good results from the blood test
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: I think it's pretty impossible for different brand tests to both give you false positives. Your internist just sounds like a bully! Hopefully your blood tests prove her wrong.

Okay for those of you who didn't see my post on the March board, here's the situation: I took this this morning with SMU it's light, but DH and I both see it. Shouldn't it be darker by now though? AF is expected today. I had some born spotting when checking my cervix, but I took the test anyway. Help!! I'm totally freaking out that it's a false positive OR it's a chemical.
nectarine / 2028 posts
@MrsHansen82: AHHHHHH!!!! I see it!!!!! My first one on Friday looked just like that!! Keep testing!!!! Congrats, Mama!!!
persimmon / 1167 posts
@MrsHansen82: Nope. It can definitely be light depending on when you implanted and how much HCG that bean is producing and how often the LO is doubling it's HCG. SO many factors. I'm excited to see what tomorrow brings.
persimmon / 1481 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: thanks! I'm totally freaking out. Are yours getting darker??
persimmon / 1481 posts
@HolisticMama: wait, are you saying Nope you can't see it or nope it shouldn't be darker? Confused. Either way I'll update you guys tomorrow. I actually might try to hold my pee all day and take another one after work tonight.
persimmon / 1167 posts
@MrsHansen82: Nope as in...it's totally okay for it to be a light line the day AF is expected.:) And I've read many stories of women spotting early on in their pregnancy.
My fingers are crossed!

@HolisticMama: okay good, thanks! I'm still going crazy though.

@MrsHansen82: Fx for you too! Looks promising! I def see it on the last pic!

I see it in the second pic!!!! Woohoo. Keep testing! It is so lovely to be getting some BFPs coming in. Can't wait to hear!!!
nectarine / 2028 posts
@HolisticMama: Thank you so much! You are so lovely. My reply to your comment got eaten when I tried to post it earlier-ugh! I was going to say that I would LOVE tea and a nice walk around Colorado Springs. Have you ever been on Wood Street near Colorado College? One of my favorite places in the world to walk.
I'm a teacher, so had parent-teacher conferences today. It was definitely a good distraction. I'm hoping the doc calls back soon. I have one more hour of work and then I can hopefully enjoy the evening....
I promise to respond to everyone SOON! Thank you all SO SO much for the support!

@MrsHansen82: I see it!! Congrats!!
@ChiCalGoBee: Sorry to hear you are going through this confusion. It can be so worrying, and a weird feeling not knowing whether to be excited or not. I hope that you get some news soon, and that it is good news!
nectarine / 2028 posts
@Radish: Yes! My internist is officially "fired." Ugh. I get that she has to give me the worst-case-scenario, but would it kill her to smile, say she's hopeful for me, and wish me well? Apparently.
@whenoceansrise: Thank you! I did! (See below)
@bakerbee: She totally is. I should have gone with my gut last year when I met her and gotten another one. I totally will go with someone else in her practice in the future!
@mrshansen82: They got darker day by day....today it seemed about the same, and then I had the blood test confirmation. I actually haven't "missed" AF yet...!
@KBee: Yes, limbo is not a fun place. Was thrilled to get the call and results in my inbox this afternoon ( see below).
nectarine / 2028 posts
So.....the blood test was POSITIVE!!!!!! For now, I was able to prove my mean internist wrong. HOPING HOPING HOPING it stays that way. I asked for the beta number but the nurse who called didn't have it. She just said I am "definitely" pregnant, and congratulated me three times. She apologized for the light urine test. She said, "Our tests are super sensitive, not sure why yours took so long." **Do we find that to be true, that doc's tests are super sensitive? I figured they were dollar-store tests so not sensitive? Who knows.
I am still spotting but for today I am grateful. I have no control over the next few months, but I will do everything in my power to help this little ball of cells turn into a bonafide baby. Again, I am thanking all of you times 1,000,000 for being here for me. You're the BEST, Bees!
persimmon / 1167 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: Those urine tests they use look a heckuv a lot like wondfos to me. LOL.
:: big bear hugs ::
Will they do another beta for you?
What kind of doctor do you want to see? I think I want to go to a midwife.
persimmon / 1121 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: Yay! That's great news!
@MrsHansen82: FX for you!
I know I don't post on this board much, but I need to vent, and since this is really only my second cycle, I figured this would be a better place to do it. All my life I've had fairly regular cycles. Now all of a sudden, as soon as I start TTC, my cycles are ridiculously long. My last one was 62 days and now it's CD27 and I still haven't ovulated. I got all excited because I got an almost positive OPK this morning, but this evening it's back to being very light. I am so frustrated that my body isn't working the way it's supposed to!
nectarine / 2028 posts
@Aria: Please come here to vent! Or vent on my wall!
You said this morning the OPK was almost pos? How much did you drink today? I find (and I think @holisticmama mentioned, too) that unless I do a 2-4 hour urine hold and haven't drunk a lot in the evening that later-in-the-day OPKs can be tricky. Compare today's FMU test with tomorrow's FMU test.
Sorry that your body isn't cooperating:-(. Tell it to pick up the pace;-).
nectarine / 2028 posts
@HolisticMama: They didn't say so-they said follow-up is with my OB. That appointment is in 25 days (not like I'm counting ). I'm hopeful that if I'm blessed enough to make it to 8 weeks that there will be an ultrasound or, at the very least, a doppler to try and find a heartbeat? I'm going to try my hardest to make it to that appointment and not break the news to family beforehand. I'm seeing them about 2 weeks after that appointment, and it'd be so amazing to share the news in person. Whenever I find myself staring at the phone wanting to call my mom and tell her, I back up and imagine how much more fun it will be to do it in person.
I'll seen an OB. The good news is that my OB's wife is actually a midwife, and from what I understand, they are willing to work together with you if you'd like. I'm definitely going to explore that option. The reasons I chose him are: 1) His office is 10 minutes from my house, and 2 minutes from my job. 2) He is under my insurance, which ensures that my entire pre-natal experience from today-(FX FX FX!) a healthy baby should be verrry reasonable as far as cost goes and 3) (and most important), he is highly recommended by my neighbor, a pediatrician who works with tons of OBs and likes him best.
That's probably more information than you wanted to know, but there you are!
persimmon / 1121 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: The OPK this evening was after a 4 hr hold, and I tried to not drink too much, so we'll see how it looks in the morning, but I'm not hopeful.
persimmon / 1481 posts
@Aria: I felt kind of the same on the first two cycles. I had always had obvious O pains and EWCM then once TTC came around, it was almost completely gone!! Hoping things get better for you, and vent all you want!! We want to hear it!
persimmon / 1481 posts
@HolisticMama: I don't want to get ahead of myself yet, but I am still back and forth between midwife and OB. I met a new OB right before TYC and I REALLY liked her. Part of me still has that possibly irrational doubt in a non-doctor. Maybe my mommy instinct will kick in and tell me.
persimmon / 1481 posts
So just tested and when I went to pee, I had about a quarter teaspoon of dark red/brown blood come out. Still cramping so I'm not very optimistic at this point. The FRER has only slightly gotten darker. Thinking it's a chemical.
kiwi / 560 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: Hooray for a positive blood test!!
@MrsHansen82: It's only been one day since your last test right? So it may not be that much darker anyway, especially if it's just one day after your missed period (?). Keep us updated
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@MrsHansen82: I responded on the other thread too, but I believe it takes HcG 48-72 hours to double, so frequently the lines won't get noticeably darker for a day or two. And I have heard from others (although clearly not experience myself), that there can be some spotting in the beginning, just due to the little one burrowing in deeper. I wouldn't panic yet!!
I know easier said than done.
persimmon / 1481 posts
@Kbee: @theotherstark: thanks ladies, feeling pessimistic still, but at least now I know we can conceive. If it doesn't work, we'll just try try again.
apricot / 348 posts
@MrsHansen82: it is definitely darker. I can clearly see it in the
pic whereas the previous ones I had to squint. I think you should stay positive! this could be it...
@ChiCalGoBee: congrats on blood test! stupid woman needs a talking too the way she handled you! such great news. don't desert us yet, keep us posted. oh, and well done not telling anyone. I have promised to call at least 2 people tomorrow after I POAS! I always think it's better to have the support but I totally get why people want to wait. At least we have the bee to share our feelings / excitement / struggles with!
