@lilyofthewest: Everything is a sign until it's not in my book
clementine / 899 posts
Apparently I'm on 5DPO, when I'm usually on 1 or 2. I O'd way earlier then normal, with no signs from CM. Which means we only got one BD session in, the day before. So I'm not holding my breath for this cycle. DH is adamant that we BD EOD after AF to cover our bases, especially after this way out of whack cycle.
On the bright side, we found out close friends of ours are also TTC! It'll be their 2nd, but it's still exciting that we're going through this together. DH is especially as the hubby is the only person he's told that we're TTC.

@whenoceansrise: I'm gonna POAS this week unless AF shows up first (due tomorrow). Biting my nails, over here...

@whenoceansrise: I'm going to hold out and test on Wednesday the 2nd still. I might even see if I miss AF and test on Thursday. I've been having cramps but only when I have to pee which is kind of unusual. I also have sore breasts and acne. These could all be PMS symptoms, but who knows!!

@whenoceansrise: Ah these last two days have been crawling by!! I'd rather see AF than a BFN though, so I'm okay with waiting.

Had EWCM last night and a faded line on OPK- don't really think it was positive since it wasn't as dark as the control line. Perhaps it'll be positive today!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: For OPK the test has to be as dark or darker than the control... You are getting there! When it gets a little darker maybe test twice a day too if you want to make sure you catch the surge! Yay for O!

@snowjewelz: I definitely feel like O is on it's way and DH and I are BDing every day this week. My hopes are high this cycle!

Good luck fellow newbie TTCers!! So many of you are O'ing or testing soon
@whenoceansrise: Yay!! Hoping for you this cycle
@MrsHansen82 @Mrs.Lilac: FX for you two! I hate the waiting - I try to make really detailed to-do lists for myself and focus on getting that stuff crossed out so I don't think about testing as much during the day

@Kbee: @whenoceansrise: thanks ladies. Today has been hard. AF hasn't arrived so that is good but could still arrive tomorrow. My friend is trying to persuade me to POAS but I really want to wait. I don't know why. I am just trying to put off the inevitable I think.
@MrsHansen82: arrrr, you know how I'm feeling right now I'm sure. I'm desperately trying to hold off until Thursday but it is hard. Is AF due today or tomorrow for you?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: Hang in there! I think you should POAS only if YOU want to! Don't do it for others... Do it for you!

@Mrs.Lilac: I hope thursday comes fast for you! Waiting is no fun!

@Mrs.Lilac: If you feel like you want to wait - then you should wait! It is hard though. I usually test 1-2 days before my AF is due (because I am impatient and can't handle it!).

@whenoceansrise: I'm doing okay, thanks for asking My current vice is obsessing over whether we will start TTC once I get my period, or wait another full cycle after that and start TTC after I get a 2nd period.
But, I'm super excited for you that your chance is coming up so soon!!

@Kbee: I feel like HB made it okay to test before AF is due haha. I don't know where 10 DPO came from but I count that has the first date that's acceptable to test~
I'm hoping your body will regulate and AF will come & go so you can get into the swing of TTC again!

Hello, all!
I just joined the POAS group for April but I am also brand new to TTC. DH and I were going to wait until autumn 2014 because we just got married in November of 2013, but we both have baby fever! It is running rampant in our house!
Anyway, this is my first month TTC after being on the pill for 5 months, so I am going to try to be patient but I will be honest and say I will be a little disappointed if I don't get KU from my first cycle.
We are doing the SMEP method with the hopes that I will at least get to know my cycle better. Tomorrow is my first official BD and then I will begin OPK testing on Thursday.
I am really excited to be a part of this community!

@Mrs.Lilac: AF is due tomorrow if I Oed when I think I did. I'm having some light cramps as I have been for the past 5 days or so. Sore boobs, and hot flashes. I'm feeling super periods, but no spotting yet which I usually the day before AF.

@simplyfelicity: Welcome! Maybe it's bad of me to say, but I think if you are excited to start trying, you should. My DH and I had a designated start month and it's taking longer than I thought. Next month will be only cycle 4, but I was convinced we'd be pregnant by cycle 1! Haha! Anyway, bottom line: it could take longer than you expect and you'd be kicking yourself later for not trying those first few months.

@MrsHansen82: totally agree. I was always going off BC in Jan, and wasn't going to try till March. But if I wasn't learning so much and pretty much starting to try in Jan/Feb, I prob still won't really know when I'm doing!

@simplyfelicity: Welcome - this is a great group of TTC newbies I think we all know the odds are stacked against us, but we secretly all hope that we get lucky that first try
I hope you get a quick BFP!!

@simplyfelicity: Welcome! I hope you get lucky and get your your first month.
I'm hoping I get the same kind of lucky.
By a week from now, I should either know I'm preggers, or I'll be having my first period in >9 years. Aside from just getting my quick, I also want to get to say Nov 2005 is my LMP whenever I'm asked at OB appts.

@simplyfelicity: hi! This is my first month trying too! I totally get the excitement and wanting it to happen quickly
My DH and I have been together and talking about trying for the past 7 1/2 years so it's crazy that we have finally decided to. I feel like I state at the calendar counting days now!

So, DH and I just had a talk and he doesn't want to have such a "plan" for the first two months. He said after that, if we still aren't pregnant, I can do the OPKs and charting (though I don't temp.) He just wants to keep it simple, easy and breezy considering I might not even ovulate this soon after BCP. I understand and it would be great if it happened more naturally. I see where he is coming from and he sees where I am coming from, so we compromised. Oh, marriage.;) I started out wanting to be chill about it but learning about these things is a slippery slope.
persimmon / 1481 posts
@simplyfelicity: I know how you feel...I started out not wanting to temp or use OPKs, but I quickly broke that rule and bought a bulk supply from Amazon. Even if it didn't help us conceive faster, I still like knowing pretty much exactly when AF is due and what my body is doing. It's also really interesting. At first DH didn't want to use OPKs either, but now he wants to know every time I test.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@simplyfelicity: You should ovulate! The question is just when! I do agree w/ just starting out easy and easing into it; temping, charting & using OPKs can get to be a lot, esp if you dive in head first! I took the 1st month off BC to read up on HB, and then in Feb I tested the waters by temping. When I realized I'm not getting anywhere, then we ramped up and did everything in Mar!
If you want to get KU without doing all that crazy TTC stuff yet, just BD as much as you can
kiwi / 560 posts
@simplicityfelicity: Welcome!! I agree with @MrsHansen82, that if you are comfortable with TTC now, you should start. My DH and I were NTNP for December - I had no clue when I ovulated and in retrospect guessed it TOTALLY wrong which is, duh, why we got a BFN - and I honestly wish we had truly tried that month. All of us here will have different timelines, some super quick and some longer, but be confident in the fact that you are most likely in the large percentage of women that will conceive within a year, if not much earlier!
