@Mrs.Lilac: regarding the study: Yes, it is really encouraging. Especially since everyone is always talking about there only being a 20% chance you'll conceive each cycle. That statistic is really discouraging, let alone if you have fertility issues. This is the only thing I've ever read about how likely it is if you are actually trying. We'll hVe to keep our heads up!! Hopefully, we'll have a few more BFP in April!

@MrsHansen82: I really appreciate that stat, but it also sort of sent me into a panic As in, well, if I'm not pregnant this cycle (3) than something is most likely wrong. I know I really need to think more positively, but it's so tough when you just have no idea if/when it's going to happen!
Anyone else in the TWW? I was again trying to be relaxed and chill about it, but now I'm getting a little antsy, particularly since I haven't really been doing too much symptom spotting. Since there are no symptoms to spot. Haha.
I can't remember - is there anyone POAS this week?? I need to live vicariously through you while it's still to early for me

@theotherstark: Aw I'm sorry , I didn't mean to worry you! There's still a big chance that you can be fertile and not conceive right away. Even if you weren't at the optimum fertility, chances are low that you are completely infertile. I'm confident that ALL of us will have our beautiful babies just when we are supposed to! Watch, you'll probably have a BFP this month.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@MrsHansen82: Haha, thanks girl! And I'm just a crazy paranoid person generally, so this TTC waiting stuff doesn't really help
I can't wait for more BFPs to come from this thread!

@theotherstark: I've spoken to two doctors who said it's perfectly normal for healthy couples who are actively trying to have a baby to have it take 6 months to a year. That's why a doctor won't see you before that time...it just might not have been long enough! Try not to worry-you're doing everything you can, and your pretty plus sign will come (hopefully!) sooner rather than later. Hang in there.

@theotherstark: I think next week is the more heavy testing week! I think a few people this week are either out already or still waiting to test again? Well, you know I'm kinda in TWW with you! I will be in full TWW mode if FF will only confirm O for me!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: Thanks lady! I'm trying to think positively It's just tough not knowing when it will happen. Trying to keep my hopes up for this cycle! How are you feeling?? You still have another week to wait for your u/s, right? Too much waiting!!!
@snowjewelz: Yeah, it seems like we have a bit of a lull between testers! Hopefully FF will confirm O tomorrow!

@theotherstark: I really want more BFPs on this thread too. We haven't been too lucky so far! come on ladiies - get KU already
I am also super paranoid about not being fertile. My whole family just need to think about being pregnant and it happens instantly so I'm a little worried. I even asked DH if he would pay for some test privately at the 6 month mark if need be. He said he would so I might go down that route but I really hope I won't need it! waiting a year seems crazy. I'm not getting any younger after all!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: I feel the same way. In the back of my mind I'm always wondering if something's going on and we would've wasted so much time to try for 6 mos to a year before going to the doc. But then again, statistics don't lie either and sometimes it really just take a while even for perfectly healthy people. It doesn't help that women I know that are pregnant all seem to have gotten KU w/o even trying!

ok we have all deserted this thread at the moment and I don't want to as it has really helped me so come on ladies, what are your stats? I'm in the TWW and I'm gonna POAS on the 4th I think. AF is due on the 2nd but I don't hold out much hope this month so I want to wait to see if it comes as last month I took 3 tests in one day and thn a hour later AF arrived! Such a waste of money. lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: I'm TWW too, testing next Wed at 10DPO. I was excited because I had "symptoms" but over this weekend I was either too busy to SS or just had none so now I don't think this is my month! I kinda just want to find out and get it over with asap!
nectarine / 2053 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: I agree! I love this tread! I'm still early in my cycle so I'm just waiting to O
Hoping all of you in the TWW aren't going crazy! Also hoping to see lots of BFPs this cycle!

@Mrs.Lilac: I've missed this thread Thanks for reviving it!
I got a fairly faint BFP this morning, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it sticks, and that my tests get darker!
Hope you all in the TWW aren't going too crazy. I'm hoping we get some more BFPs here!!

@theotherstark: It WILL Nothing but good thoughts! I hate these barely there lines tho! Seems like so many bees get them and it sure drives us all crazy staring and squinting and guessing lol.

@theotherstark: have you tested again? Very excited for you!!!
@whenoceansrise: hope you O soon. I find that waiting to O is the worst bit rather than the TWW as after you O there is very little you can do really. I am so much more chilled this cycle, mainly as I'm almost certain I missed my chance this month plus I was so ill last week. Think I have very little chance. Even more annoyingly is that I think I'm away for O date next cycle as I'm going away without DH so that sucks. I guess time will tell.
Just looked and I'm 6dpo. That went so quickly, I thought I was about 4... Still going to wait til 16dpo to test if I can...
nectarine / 2053 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: yeah, I'm pretty chill this cycle. I think it's because if I don't get a BFP this cycle I won't be totally bummed because my estimated due date would be around 12-21-14. Really don't want a Christmas baby! But if I do get the BFP, I'll be super excited anyway.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: I did! The test was slightly darker today at 11 dpo. Probably will take a digi tomorrow!! Really hoping it sticks.
nectarine / 2028 posts
@whenoceansrise: I totally get that-both my parents are December babies and they've always hated it. However, a BFP is a BFP!!
apricot / 348 posts
@whenoceansrise: glad you are chilled. A friend just got KU after trying for so long. She said it was because she totally gave up on OPKs, temping etc and thought it wasn't meant to be and then she ended up pregnant that first cycle after 'giving up'. So I'm trying not to think about it too much!
I think an Xmas baby could be nice but my friend is getting married on the 27th December so if I get KU this cycle I will either be overdue or have a VERY tiny baby which wouldn't be ideal!
@theotherstark: woohoo!!! That is so exciting. So happy for you still. Hope it's nice and sticky xx
@ChiCalGoBee: thanks Hun. Like I've mentioned, I hold out very little hope this cycle but who knows... Hubby has a good feeling as I have been much less involved and obsessed! How are you? Hope you are well.
nectarine / 2053 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: I've heard that from a lot of people actually! They just gave up and got a BFP. Stress probably does play a factor!

Since I obsessively stalked symptom threads, I thought I would add my own TWW symptoms here, in the hopes that it is helpful Sorry, it's a bit TMI, and really long. My bad.
1-8 dpo: I really didn't have many symptoms that couldn't also be attributed to regular PMS. There were a few things that made me think something was different this cycle, though. The first was that, starting about 5 dpo, I had BMs literally every day, with some days 2 to 3 times a day. This has NEVER happened to me. I am pretty, ahem, stopped up for the most part, and usually only have 2-3 BMs in a week. At the most. So on 5 dpo when I had to go 3 times, I started to wonder.
My boobs were sore, although they generally get sore in the TWW. They did feel a bit more full, and sort of more achy, but that's the only real difference, and I only noticed because I was really paying attention.
The only other random thing was that in the afternoon of 6 dpo, I had a weird metallic taste in my mouth for a bit. I went to the bathroom to spit, because I thought I might have bit my tongue, but there wasn't anything there. It was really strange, although possibly could have been nothing.
Honestly, though - everything up to 8 dpo could have been PMS!
8 dpo: Had some super, super low, very light cramps. I noted in FF that they felt weird and not like AF cramps. Got a BFN this afternoon (stupid! Why did I test?? Haha).
9 dpo: No spotting this morning! (The past two cycles, I had spotted very lightly on CD 8 and 9.) Had very light pinching all across my lower abdomen all afternoon. This was when I thought that I might be pregnant. (I had read about people feeling pinching, so I was expecting super sharp pains, but for me, it felt more like grabbing your skin really softly with two fingers, squeezing lightly and pulling up. Almost like a bubbling feeling. It was gentle, but definitely there, and was way different from any cramps I had before.)
10 dpo: My temp shot up today. Got a super light BFP this morning. Had very, VERY slightly pink tinged cm around noon. Wouldn't have even noticed it if I wasn't scrutinizing the TP Just that one time, then it was gone.
I'm now 12 dpo and keeping my fingers crossed soooo hard that it sticks! I've had tons of cramping the past few days, and my CM increased. I've also had little bouts of queasiness, and have gotten pretty tired.
I'm also attaching my chart, in case anyone wants to chart stalk. Last month during the TWW, my temps were all over the place. This month, they were pretty level for most of the time, which made me wonder as well.
GOOD LUCK to everyone!!! Would love to see more BFPs come out of this thread
nectarine / 2053 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: Yeah, I definitely won't be complaining if I do get that BFP this cycle!
nectarine / 2053 posts
@theotherstark: I'll probably read that a million times when I enter into the TWW! Happy for you dear!
Thanks for sharing!

@theotherstark: thanks for taking the time and writing down all the info hope you have a happy and healthy nine months!

I agree, we need to keep this thread alive! I'm 6 or 7 DPO right now. Symptom spotting like crazy. I have been having some super light cramps today, also very nauseated. I have a dilemma...maybe you ladies can help. I can't decide if I want to test early or not. Last cycle I said that I would not test before AF was due to avoid another BFP turning into a chemical. I mean if I did have another chemical, I'd still like to know, but at least I'd have less time to get excited. Anyway, now I'm finding it so hard to resist. I want to test at 11DPO which would be Sunday. I know DH will want to wait, but if I really insist, he will cave for sure. What do you think?
apricot / 348 posts
@MrsHansen82: I'm probably the wrong person to ask as I have just changed my POAS date to the 4th April which will be 16dpo. I really want to wait as long as possible as I'm sick of seeing negative tests. I tested last month at 10dpo as I had a good feeling but not this month. If I was getting symptoms I may be tempted to test though
nectarine / 2053 posts
@MrsHansen82: I am a POAS addict. I just can't help it. I'm going to try to wait longer to test this cycle, but I don't know if I can hold out! I hate seeing negative tests just as much as I hate not knowing if I'm KU!

feeling a little bummed today. I've been off birth control since July- though we did NTNP for a few months- I feel like I should have gotten a BFP by now.

@whenoceansrise: I think because I got fertility testing done before TTC, I'm not convinced I will get pregnant without intervention. So if we do actually get pregnant within a year of trying naturally- I will be super stoked.
nectarine / 2053 posts
@HolisticMama: I am thinking about making an appointment for fertility testing. I just want to know! annnd I am hoping that you do get KU naturally!

So I don't want it post this in the March board bc I just read that Knee had a m/c. So I tested today at 10DPO with the target HPT. There is a faint line (I can see it) but the instructions told me to hold hold the stick in urine for 5sec and not move it at all till after 2 min and I kinda broke both rules so the test can be faulty? I only brought two HPT with me on vacation so I prob won't test again till Fri... I'm really doubting this test since I did it "wrong".

@snowjewelz: That looks super promising! I am not familiar with blue dye tests and their false positives but I'm pretty sure congrats are in order!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Radish: eh, hold it lol. I'm nonchalant since I'm on vacation. I left the FRERs at home so if is more promising on Fri or AF didn't come on Sat, then I'll use the FRER. Thanks for the encouragement! I just needed to get it out there for now!
nectarine / 2079 posts
@snowjewelz: I know the feeling. My first FRER positive with DD was so faint (and my husband was in denial) that it was this strange super hopeful buzz, but no way I would fully believe it. FX for an awesome line when you test again and enjoy the rest of your vacation!

@snowjewelz: Wow!! That looks incredibly promising!!!! Please keep us posted!! CONGRATS!
