Something made me think of group swim classes so I found an local infant swim class. It's mainly an introduction to water class for babies under 1 year. Not sure about doing it since there is a annual fee and I'm hoping to move out of state soon.

In a hotel pool at 8 months. She liked it. I think we went too long without really swimming because she did NOT like swim lessons a little after she turned two. It took half the sessions just to get her to stop crying (with a parent in the pool).

We did from 6-8 months... This place offered free classes as long as you started before turning 7 months! It was really great!

She went in my parents pool all of twice her first summer (8m-11m) and was not to happy about it. We started swim lessons when she was 19m and has been doing them ever since. She's a total fish now at 2 1/2.

We started swim lessons at about 6 months. He went in a pool once before that. He does pretty good but has been going through a clingy phase and isn't too fond of going under water at the moment. He's getting so good at holding his breath though. We're working on going under and rolling to back when he comes up.

10 months? We were just at a friend's pool in one of those float things. He LOVED IT. Total water baby.

10 months. He loves the water: beach, pools, bath. We just started swim lessons last week and he is 2.5. He is fearless and doing very very well!

At 2.5 months he went in the mineral pools in New Zealand. A great intro to the water, since they are so warm (we didn't take him into the hot pools). He started swim lessons at our local pool at 5.5 months. They are open to babies as young as 4 months.

We dipped him in a community pool at like 4 months. Last summer we spent a lot of time at that pool - he was 14-17 months.
We've moved to a new neighborhood though and don't have the same pool so I've thought of doing swim lessons to keep him comfortable in the water.

We have a pool in our yard, and DH brought her in starting around 2.5 or 3 months. We haven't done lessons yet, but will probably very soon.

Not until 15 months! I'm not big on swimming and gained a bunch of weight after lo1 was born. I think lo2 has dipped his feet in already. He was 4 months at the time. He didn't appreciate the cold, lol.

He started swim lessons at the Y around 7-8 months and has been going pretty continuously since then. He loves it!
