If you drop food on the floor, do you follow the 5 second rule? I do only at home or my moms house (she has freakishly clean floors), and only if it is a dry item so nothing can easily stick to it.

At home it's more like 10-second rule...In restaurants, I won't touch it.

Sometimes, but only if I know the floor is super clean and like you said, I know nothing can stick to it. I'm really weird about this though and I don't even like to eat things that fall on tables or counters usually, even if they were just cleaned.

@Rubies: I can't even imagine doing this in a restaurant. It grosses me out just thinking about it.

NEVER. Ugh I am so paranoid about hairs and fluffs on my food. And especially with cats if I drop anything there is no 5 second rule. THey are at my feet so they get it in 1 second.

At home - sure! if my food even touches the table (off of my plate) at a restaurant I won't eat it.
