Apparently flu and strep are horrible locally. I heard from a peds nurse from a local peds office affiliated with our children's hospital (same chain that I use for my kids), that they strep tested 41 kids yesterday and 39 were positive.
We had a really rough fall and I'm really hoping we can avoid this mess! There's a really bad "cold" circulating as well that has some of my co-workers down an out for over a week.

Remembered this thread when I saw the flu vaccine effectiveness estimates came out today. Looks like it's about average/good at roughly 50%.

DD1 got the flu shot and she had the flu last week; tho it wasn't too severe so I don't know if it's thanks to the flu shot.
