How long did it take your LO to pick up the signs and start doing them?

C is 6.5 months and we're just now starting to do baby sign language. We're starting with "more" and "milk". I started "more" when I fed her dinner tonight. I did the sign when she would stop eating and when she finished the first container and we started the 2nd. I would stop, get her attention and do the sign, and then hold up the container or spoon and then do the sign again and try to feed her. Is that right? Is that what I should be doing?

Milk we've been doing very sporadically for a few weeks. I really need to be much more consistent with it. I just do it before I give her each bottle, right?
