How do you keep it clean?!
I LOVE the look of fluffy, white bedding, but we have a black cat and a toddler and I have no idea how it would stay white.

Oxiclean! I actually like white better more because I can Oxiclean and bleach it.

I do not wear daytime clothes on my bed. Only showered bodies and clean pjs. But I think the black cat will cause you problems...

@MrsMcD: yeah. He's a Turkish Angora and has med/long fluffy fur too.

I've always wanted all white bedding, but it can't happen. Even though I know I could bleach it, it would only look clean for a day before it looked dirty and I'm not about to do laundry that often.

I bleach it every other wash and sometimes let it soak in hot water with some white vinegar (I read somewhere that the latter removes detergent build-up on the fibers). I think the trick is to only wash white linens/towels with other white linens/towels and wash them on hot. No one would accuse me of being a neat freak, but I manage to keep the white sheets, duvet covers, and towels looking good.

I just wash my sheets with Tide and it's good to go. We do not allow food on our bed .

I had white bedding a few years ago and loved the look for about 6 months, but after that I just felt like it was always dingy. I love the look, too, but it's just way too much maintenance for me to deal with.

Hot water and bleach. DH doesn't like to was his face before bed (totally disgusting but he just refuses) so you can tell his pillow case.

No food or pets or shoes in bed. So it never gets dirty!

This is the reason we never have a white duvet. I don't want to kick my pup off the bed so it's coloured/dark sheets for me lol!

I specifically wanted a house on the sewer system so I could use bleach! With a septic tank, you have to be super careful.
I bleach whites every other washing. I hang them to dry outside when it's warm, the sunning helps as well.

We don't have a pet so that is one less battle. We did just buy a new quilt since R spit up so much on the last duvet, but we wanted something thinner anyway. Just wash it a lot.
