R is on Alimentum. Our insurance picks up the majority of the cost. It smells bad but she's never had a reaction to it like she had to milk protein formulas and soy formula.

ETA - our ped said to try Alimentum at first and Nutramigen was the next step.

We used nutramigen and it was like a miracle (though I think any hypoallergenic formula would have done the same thing). My baby had cried for the first three months of her life and the nutramigen worked almost overnight.

And my insurance covered it 100% with a dr's prescription ! We don't have the best insurance and I couldn't believe it.

@ladybee: do you have a flex spending account? You should be able to use that if insurance won't cover it.
