I'm thinking/hoping this is the next step for us - injectibles & IUI. I want to be prepared for the conversation so I'm wondering about the different injectibles from girls that have used them and what they would suggest.

This will probably be more your doctor's decision than yours, so you may not get much if any say in what you use. But...Femara is an oral medication rather than an injectible, similar to Clomid. Bravelle is more like Gonal-F and Follistim except it doesn't come in pen format, and Menopur has an LH component, although the Q-caps aren't that hard to work with once you get used to them. Honestly though, I think when you get to this point it's probably just best to let your doctor decide because it's so complicated.

Oh good to know! I've done Clomid in the past for 4 cycles. I ovulate on my own so I didn't need the help there but we didn't get a BFP, obviously. I would like to steer clear of pills and go to injections. I agree though, I'm sure my RE will know! I just wanted to have an idea of what each option was and know some pros and cons, if any so I could be well informed before. In case there was anything I REALLY didn't want. Thanks for the info!

I agree with @spaniellove that you should just let your doctor decide. Each one is different and each are used in different scenarios. Last cycle I took Femara orally for 4 days and then did 4 days of menopur and an HGC trigger shot. The menopur stings as it is going in, but it worked for me.

Like @spaniellove said, your doctor really should decide. Femara is an oral med that for me, was used in conjunction with injectables. My RE was really experienced and I trusted her judgement - a lot of it is just finessing the different med combinations and dosages (where the experience comes in), and can take some changing or adjusting over a few cycles.
Different meds do different things too, I think menopur and bravelle are similar, and gonal-f and follistim are similar. So for my IUI, I was on bravelle and femara. For IVF, I was on menopur and gonal-f. They were pretty much the same to me, the only thing is that menopur burns going in, for whatever reason. But it's not a reason not to use it.
