I'm currently struggling with two things: finding the will to exercise and bedtime.

DD is 14 weeks and fairly hard to settle at night. It's the one time of day that we nurse to sleep so that may be part of it. But a big part is the fact that we live in a small studio apartment. So I can't put her in her crib because we are still up and about and it's just too much activity and light. So I just end up in bed with her from about 7pm and it's starting to wear on me. I love cosleeping but I'd love it more if I could get her into the crib for the first part of the night.

And she's so so determined to roll! It's adorable but I feel like she's way too young to be trying this. But whenever I put her on her back she immiately starts trying to roll onto her belly. And she can almost do it except she has one arm stuck under her, so she gets upset. And when I put her down for tummy time, she immediately rolls onto her back and it starts again! Thank god she so crazy adorable!

6 months next week

Our current struggle is naps. She's never been a good napper and with her first day of daycare starting this week it's gotten so much worse. I'm hoping once she settles in it'll get better!

LO is 19w, 12w adjusted. I think the main area I'm having issue is anxiety. BFing still is far from perfect, but it's so much better that I can live with it. But I'm struggling with worrying. I hear stories about things happening to babies/kids, and I get so upset (really need to stop reading historical fiction- the infant mortality rate used to suck!). I check that she's breathing a lot. So far I honestly don't think it's to a level that I need to seek help, it just sucks. Though part of me is afraid that if I do something about the anxiety, I'll get lax and something bad will happen. Or not so much that it will, but if it did would I wonder if I could have done more if I hadn't tried to be more laid back. I overthink these things!

I dunno. Overall I'm loving being a mommy and I love this sweet girl. That's the important part!

My daughter is 10 weeks.

My greatest struggle right now is how she wants to be held all day long, awake or asleep. She sleeps awesome at night, but during the day she won't sleep for more than 2 minutes without being on me. And awake, she's good for maybe five minutes, if she's in a good mood and then screaming ensues. I love holding her, I'm a huge fan of babywearing...but a little space would go a long way.

@FliegepilzHut: Honestly, I think we just got lucky with my kiddo's awesome night sleep. She's in a bassinet in our room, and in the last month I've started bringing her back to bed with me if she wakes up early. My husband is already up by this time, so there's plenty of space to get her safely settled. I'm too nervous to have her in our bed at night, at least while she's still so little, but I also tend to be a worrier.

@Torchwood: I worry sometimes about accidentally letting slip to the pedi that we cosleep. I actually never knew it was controversial until HB. We practice safe cobedding and I love that's she's so close and all I have to do to check up on her is open my eyes.

Even typing this out I feel like cobedding is something you have to justify and if I told the pedi I'd have to spend a lot of time explaining why I feel like my parenting choices are correct. I hate keeping things from him because I do like him, but I don't need a lecture about this. I know that whatever he says won't change my mind, and whatever I say won't change his, so it's better just to not bring it up.

@tofuwad: We cobed too, and I don't tell the ped for sure. I did say she sleeps in a sleep nest in our bed, but really we only used that VERY briefly and it's long since been moved to the living room as a pet bed. Even that upset them, and the nest is essentially a mini-crib in our bed- no risk of bedding getting on her or us rolling or anything.

Though part of our problem is that our ped's office is part of a teaching hospital. There are fully certified doctors overseeing everything, but the ones we meet with are residents. So they have virtually no leeway in what they have to recommend. I'm thinking about switching for that reason, but I like that there are always research studies we can be a part of. It's neat, it helps advance medical research, and it starts building LO's savings. We're getting $20 this week for a poop sample!

@MsHangry: I know, right? I've got plenty if they want more! (She's been pooping pretty much every diaper this week, geez. )

DS is 4 months old (...when did that happen?!)

What have I learned so far? Ummm...this would require a novel.
What am I struggling with? Sleep at the moment. DS has been STTN since 2 months but we've recently switched him to the pnp and his sleep has gone downhill. I'm sure it's not really that bad compartively but mama got used to sleep!

My tiny is 5.5 months. Today's struggle is a nasty sinus cold that she got from me. She's on the high maintenance side, though mostly happy these days, so colds or other ailments really turn up the volume on her fussiness. Also, her first two teeth broke through last week -- we're thinking she's either cutting another tooth now, or the first two are still bothering her. ALSO, she just went ftom about six poops a day to one every other day, and that's freaking me out. ALSO, along with all of this, DST has wreaked havoc on her sleep, just as it was starting to get back to normal after a LONG 4-month sleep regression (5 weeks waking every 1-2 hours. Ahhhh!)

@Torchwood: I struggle with the exact same anxiety. It took me 7 years to have my little peanut, and I feel so blessed. But I worry that the shoe is going to drop, and something is going to happen to take her away from me.
