How many people did you have staying with you when you came home with your LO from the hospital?
I'm kind of stressed because I feel like our home is going to be too chaotic with both mothers around! I know I'm going to be exhausted, hormonal, a wreck, etc. My mother will be staying with us for at least a month to help cook and clean, etc. I don't mind having her here because I'm obviously comfortable around her and have no issues putting my foot down if she makes suggestions I don't agree with, but my MIL has made it clear that she intends to come up once I am in labor and may be staying for a couple extra days after we bring the LO home. She's a nurse and will most certainly have "suggestions" related to my recovery and care of the baby. She doesn't seem to think it's a problem that there will be 4 adults and 1 baby staying in our 2-bedroom condo!
For the experienced mamas out there, what are your thoughts?
I feel bad telling my MIL that she can't stay but my mom can, but as @lemondrop said, I don't want to feel obligated to clean and be a host. She's always been pushy about coming to visit, and in the past I've given in, but this time I'm just going to say no. I'll have my husband firmly tell her. Thank you ladies for making me feel like I'm not being a mean, inconsiderate DIL!!
