I have a 6 week old who when awake only likes to be held. He is fine with sleeping on his own, but hates it when he's awake. We have a bouncer and rock n play that he hates. But he loves his stroller and falls asleep everytime we go for a walk. Same thing with car rides. We dont have a swing because we live in a small apartment and I thought the bouncer would be fine. But, thinking about how much he likes stroller rides maybe he would prefer a swing?
Thoughts? What works for your baby?

E hated the bouncer and loved the swing. We had the snuggabunny swing, and he liked it turned almost all the way up. I loved that swing, sometimes it was the only way to get him to sleep. It did take up a ton of space though.

Us!!! I could've written your post word for word. She loves that stroller, but I can't leave her sleeping in it all day. Get the snugabunny/snugabear/snugawhatever is at your local buy buy baby/Walmart! Ours is the snugabear, but I've seen like twenty models lol. DD hates the mamaroo with a passion, and I've been trying to sell it ever since. The snugabear has three different positions, and she loves the back and forth. We put screaming baby in it, turn on full power, and she goes to sleep! She will also nap in it when it's turned off if she's already sleep. But, it's the only thing that calms her down other than strolling her around or a drive. As far as being in an apt or small space, I gladly have it in my living room for the peace it brings!
*the activity may isn't always there, but snugabear lives next to the couch now!

Get a swing! Our LO likes the bouncer when she is happy but it would never calm her down. The swing is an instant fix for us. I'd go for it even I'm a small space - you won't need it for that long.

Moby wrap or similar? LO would only be held awake or asleep around that age and that's what saved us! No space required

I would say if you get a swing, go all out and get one that goes front and back AND side to side. We had a small hand me down one that just went front back and my lo hated it. Don't know if the side to side would work better but a lot of friends babies seemed to prefer that motion.
The only thing that worked for us was the moby and eventually the stroller with the car seat in it. She hated the bassinet on the stroller and hated being in the car in the car seat. But I walked the baby weight right off walking her in the moby.

Swing is worth it. We got ours from a friend as a last minute addition to our gear lineup and there was NO space for it at all, but we made room. It currently sits in front of my closet. Worth it. LO is going through a terrible phase this week where she fights naps like crazy and I thought she was too old for the swing to work anymore (she's over 3 months so she has started to get more stimulated by it than soothed) but she surprised me this afternoon by falling right to sleep in it, after hours of failed attempts in the RnP.
[ETA] Oh I would also try babywearing. Moby, Ergo, we love our Lillebaby. She conks right out the second we put her in a carrier. Only problem is then I can't sit down until I'm ready for her to wake up.

@dc yoga bee: thanks for the pic! The swings are definitely large but I'll forgo space if one will actually calm W down! My friend is going to let me borrow her snugasomething to see if W even likes it before I buy one.
@MenagerieMama: we have a k'tan that he likes but he gets so hot in it really quickly so he never stays in it long.
@Foodnerd81: So many swing options. I will definitely check that out if we end up buying one,.
