So, Sadie's rockin' a pretty serious gap. It's super cute, but I'm wondering if it's going to be a problem in the future. I'm also wondering if it's already having an effect on her speech. She doesn't really pronounce words - she's very mumbly & a lot of her words sounds really similar. Her gums definitely come down between her teeth & it's obvious that it's more than just a little normal toddler spacing - I'm thinking lip tie.
Have you experienced a lip tie/gap? Did you get it clipped? Is it necessary? Opinions, advice, experiences - give it to me.
Here's a blurry pic because my toddler apparently doesn't like being held down with her mouth open (as awkward as this looks, I swear I'm not hurting her
):
She also had a pretty bad tongue tie at birth. It was clipped and we had follow-up appointments with the surgeon for 6 months. She also has a heart-shaped tongue. I'm wondering if it's all connected..?
