I'd like to buy a birthday gift for a 2 year old boy and a girl. Are there some favorite toys, or anything else you found great for that age?

Books and puzzles! DS is really into cars/trucks and airplanes at 2.

Books, blocks, things they can build. DD2 is turning 2 next weekend and loves things she can build, and "cooking" in the play kitchen, so one thing I got her is a Melissa and Doug cupcake building set.

My 2 year old is in love with the Melissa & Doug magnets. I purchased them at Target.

My almost 2 year old is OBSESSED with books. And trucks. I'm planning on getting him really big lacing beads soon (anther idea). I think most kids that age also love babies and other kids so books with pictures of kids/babies (real, not drawn) are usually a hit.

I got all of LO's friends skip hop backpacks for their 2nd bdays. Big hit!

LO loves his Melissa and Doug puzzles, Duplos, blocks, cars and trucks of all kinds, books, and art supplies (stickers, crayons, stamps, etc).

My son is 2.5 and he loves duplos,, dress up imagination (dr, fireman), books, play kitchen accessories, Mr. potato head, cars/trucks/busses.
