I second the gift card for take-out! Could you maybe call her and ask if she needs something from the grocery store? If you want something more gift-ish, maybe a movie you think she'd like?

I would have loved a bunch of easy, ready-to-go healthy snacks and a reusable water bottle with a straw!

I always like to make a little care package for new moms. Most of these things you can get at target.

I pack all the things mentioned below into an anthropologie mug with the babe's initial (like this: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/poshome/78404.jsp)
- Batteries
- Good chapstick
- Pacifiers
- Dry Shampoo
- Some type of chocolate

Honestly, lately, all I've been craving are chocolate covered strawberries, so I have to suggest that too!

a bottle of wine! LOL I'm not even a lush, but I loved my gf who brought me a bottle of wine. Felt human (even though it was weeks before I had my first glass)

My sister in law went to the GAP outlet store and bought be a pair of comfy pants and a sweater. The pants were a size too big but they are the comfiest pants ever. I totally appreciated that.

I would've loved comfy lounge wear, snack food, a pizza, or flavored waters.

I loved when people brought me food: casseroles and snacks were all appreciated!

A friend bought me some bath oil shaped like a chocolate bar and I loved it, total excuse to hand baby to DH and steal some relax time in the tub!
