Did you find this to be true for you during pregnancy? We were team green and I was convinced I was having a girl because my skin was AWFUL. We ended up having our sweet boy though, so this wives tale wasn't true for me!

Yes gahh. I gained 50lbs, my face broke out, my hair thinned, and now at 3months pp I look like a kangaroo with acne. Girl got all my beauty!

I'm having a girl and my skin is so much better than before. My butt on the other hand...it's so flat. I've had pancakes with more oomph than my derriere is sporting right now.

@petunia354: It was true for my friend! With her girls she had so much acne, and with her first, her nose swelled huge! LOL. With her boy she looked great!

ETA: I like to say that Owen borrowed my beauty....I looked heinous the last 3-4 months of my pregnancy and for 2 months post partum but now at 9 months my skin/scarring has completely cleared, thank god.

I had acne in the first trimester but it cleared up and my skin was great in the 2nd and 3rd. People commented that I have the "pregnancy glow" so that was nice! I'm 40 weeks pregnant with a girl.

I didn't find this to be true at all! My skin was soft and clear, my hair was shiny, and I didn't gain any weight,
Postpartumness hasn't been so kind to me though. I would really like for this hair loss to stop, and I could do without the acne haha.

Nope. I had a girl and I didn't have any acne at all. (But I've actually always heard the opposite that boys cause acne because of the extra testosterone)

I got the glow. If by "glow" you mean greaseball skin that causes tons of breakouts!! I thought all signs pointed to a girl, but nope. We are having a little boy!

@petunia354: I wouldn't say I felt particularly hot when I was pregnant with my baby girl....but I didn't have acne and my hair and nails were definitely better (maybe the prenatals?). But them I've never had issues with acne (I have extremely dry skin actually).

It hasn't held true for me! I felt so hideous while I was pregnant with E. I gained tons of weight in my butt and thighs and my hair was bad. I also had acne- especially at the beginning. Not as bad this time (and this time it's a girl).

I'm about 34-35 weeks with a girl, and I'd say it's kind of been a throw-up. On one hand, I've had AWFUL chest/back acne that made a dermatologist cringe (sick), but on the other, my nails have been great and I've only gained a basketball-ish belly (for the most part!). Who knows?!

I had a pretty fabulous pregnancy. Pretty skin, good hair, gained only in my belly and had a girl. Not true for me.

I've had a pretty great pregnancy also and I'm having a girl. My skin got a little worse in the beginning, but I already had acne to start. I used new products and it's cleared up. My hair's been pretty good, a lot thicker

This is one of the old wives tales that makes me think we're having a boy (my skin has never been better). BUT, every other one says girl, so we shall see.

@petunia354: nope, I was beyond fugly with my beautiful boy. Gained half my body weight, hair was terrible, skin was blotchy, horrible pre-e swelling, carpal tunnel. There was no glow whatsoever.

I had zero acne and a baby girl. A lot of the old wives tales weren't true for us. We were TG and I was convinced we were having a boy!

I was going to say no, because i didn't have acne...however, it's actually a YES. I came down with this really rare untreatable skin disorder during my entire pregnancy called CARP that covered my stomach and my armpits and chest and it was UGLY. Big dark patches all over my body. It was awful. And it went away when she was a couple of months old....I kept saying, "well, at least i can wear clothes to cover it up!"

With my DD i had bad skin. I was never told that I was glowing ever! We are team green again and so far skin has been normal and people have told me I look good so we will see lol

I was a slamming hottie while pregnant. It was 95% attitude - I just FELT beautiful, and it really came through. I also got lucky and didn't have many weight gain or skin issues. I had a girl.

I had acne while preggers. My hair didn't seem dull, but I definitely didn't have a glow either. Had a girl.

She made me super sick in the 1st tri, but I wouldn't say she say she stole my beauty. My skin cleared up and my hair was nice and thick lol

@petunia354: I've heard this before too but it wasn't true for me. I had great glowing skin, thicker hair (I think it was due to the prenatal vitamins), and overall a great pregnancy with no morning sickness. I kept on waiting for the morning sickness, looking for signs for it, but then got carpal tunnel during the 3rd trimester.

I never, ever had a glow. Just a pudgy, washed out face the whole time with both B and E!!

No acne, normal thick hair, no crazy weight gain, and carried like a little beach ball with all the weight just in my tummy - and I had a girl! I wouldn't say I necessarily glowed, but I looked much like my normal self with a round little belly being the only thing different. This time, it's much the same and whilst we are Team Green again, I really feel as though this is another girl. Time will tell....

Not true for me- my skin and hair looked its best ever when I was preg with DD.
