I posted a thread the other day and a lot of bees said my baby (8 weeks old tomorrow and 2 months old on Monday) isn't getting enough sleep. I have to agree now that they've pointed it out.
He fights his naps because he's overtired. I'm not putting him down for his naps early enough. I'm just so confused. He woke up at 6:30am this morning for the day like usual. I tried to get him down earlier before he started showing his overtired cues but even when I did he fought his nap and wouldn't go to sleep and didn't go down until almost 8:30 like he has been which is way too late.
He slept for about 45 mins and then fell asleep after nursing around 10:00. I moved him off the nursing pillow and laid him down. He woke up and still fought sleep and wouldn't go down easy. He finally went down about 10:30 but popped back awake 10 minutes later. What am I doing wrong? He needs sleep but won't sleep!!
It took a couple of weeks of maintaining that routine for my LO to go down easily for naps. I'm sure there are other bees who can even confirm that their LOs wouldn't nap unless held. I would keep at it for another week, and then see if you need another strategy.
I would try the swaddle for naps too. I found that when she was bundled up nicely she fell asleep pretty easily!
