I just emailed my boss. I'm planning on returning to work on Dec 7th. My babies are almost 8 weeks and they'll be 12 weeks when I go back.
When are you going back to work?

I have 12 weeks too. Will likely be mid-Nov-mid-Feb. Do you feel like it was/will be a good amount of time off?

@bluestriped bee: Dec 7th is a Monday, I've always heard its better to transition back during the middle of the week. This way you only have a few days until you see your LOs again all day.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I was thinking about that recently. Good idea. Thanks!

Exciting! Agree with the starting mid week thing! But you may have it a bit easier since DH is home with the babies right? I took Monday and Tuesday off to transition her to daycare and then went back to work that Wednesday.

C is 12 weeks, so I've been back to work for 6 weeks technically. Next week will be the first week I work full time, though. I've had at least one day off every week since I've been back.

@Ms. RV: I'm thinking about doing 6 weeks, and then coming back part time as well. How part time were you for the last 6? How physical is your job? I'm an RN, so I'm on my feet quite a bit.

@rockinghorse: The first week I worked two days, then three the next, then four the weeks after that. LO still went to daycare so I could just relax. My job is a little physical (I log about 3-4 miles on my feet but no lifting) but really I needed the time off for my mental wellbeing versus the physical recovery. I personally found it easier to get used to the idea of being away from LO when I spent my days off relaxing at home with someone else taking care of her.
