I'm terrified. I'm soooooo nauseous so I haven't been able to brush my teeth for a good amount of time, or I want to puke. I changed my apt. to a later date because I was so nauseous and I'm hoping that this morning sickness will go away before my apt! Either way I know I'm not going to hear good things

My dentist appointment was fine but try humming while you brush your teeth. A male coworker told me it helped his wife while she had MS and it worked for me! I still got sick but not from brushing my teeth! I hummed Happy Birthday.

It wasn't too bad, but they had to be careful while in the back of my mouth. Also, they might numb your gums since they get more sensitive. I'm going in on Monday to have a cavity filled (my first! Gah!).

I went at 34 weeks, and I was fine, other than feeling uncomfortable from being on my back whole they were cleaning my teeth.
I agree with Swedishfish, humming always helped me in the first trimester. I would gag when I brushed otherwise.

I never knew of the humming trick! I went to the dentist in the 2nd tri, thankfully after nausea was gone.

I've been twice (I go every three months) and it was fine. But I managed to not go in the first trimester so not while I felt like total crap.
I never heard the humming thing, but I know it was hard to brush well and impossible to floss well. They said to use listerine especially when I knew I wasn't brushing well. Brushing was pretty much guaranteed to make me dry heave every day.

@artbee: with my first pregnancy I was like this while brushing my teeth. when I had my cleaning I told them I needed to rinse more often and warned them that I may have to have them stop in the middle of what they were doing, just to regroup. good luck!

My appt went well, but I also didn't have morning sickness. I heard your teeth get bad when you're preggo so I was very happy to hear mine were a-okay!

I was like 18 weeks so I had no issues, other then I just hate the dentist. Would get a Pap smear twice a year.
