To those with the gold status- is it really *that* private? What made you decide to do it? I was tempted for privacy but then I realized anyone with a paypal and the money could see what I post there too. Thoughts?

I did it to support Mr&Mrs Bee and HB in general. I love this community so much!
Plus I love that people post pictures in gold threads of their LO's but won't in a regular thread.

It's not like I'm going to post my name and social security number to a gold thread (nor do I even post photos). But I do like that what gets posted there is NOT accessible via Google, which is the main reason I feel a bit 'safer' posting certain things. I don't want someone's random "post-partum depression" (or whatever) search to end up on my thread!
ETA: And private wall posts - worth it for that alone.

@Smurfette: Ditto on both.
True, anyone with the money can get on, but who would randomly pay $25 for a site just to see what a certain person puts on there?

@JoJoGirl: agreed! I like that I can set it so only Gold users can see all my posts (on my profile page). That way, someone can't google something, stumble on one of my threads, and then click my name to see EVERYTHING I've ever posted with one click. To shell out $25 just to stalk me they'd have to be pretty crazy.

@JoJoGirl: Yes, I forgot the wall feature. Totally worth it. and I don't know why you don't post your SS number.......we are all friends here

What previous posters said: Gold wall posts, not accessible to Google searches, more privacy while still being open with HB, ability to hide my posts to only Gold users. I feel like it's a more private way to experience my favorite site. For me, it's worth it. In regards to the money, the people who could potentially stalk wouldn't pay $25 to based off of previous behavior.

What others have said. support HB, gold thread are not searchable, and private wall posts make it all worth it to me!

The non-searchability thing is exactly why I plunked down $25 when I finally stopped lurking.
I've taken the usual precautions too (a username I don't use elsewhere, a different e-mail address) to keep this account separate from my others, which use my very easily Googleable name.
I've finally gotten to the point where people have stopped asking us when we're going to have a baby … I'd really rather that not start up again because someone found my Hellobee account!

I like the comfort of being able to post pictures without it being searchable on Google. I still don't post a lot of things for privacy reasons even on Gold but I'm much more comfortable putting a pic or two up on Gold than on the regular threads.

Ooh ok I get the pictures- maybe I just have some crazies in my life but I totally know of people who would pay that to find out what I say. I'm an actor in LA and I get the creepers haha
