I haven't kept up regularly, but I was surprised! Although DH watched the pre-show for like 10 mins and then correctly predicted the identity. I can't believe it's over! I like how it ended, even though the lack of drama was a bit un-gossip girley. (but that's how finales have to go I guess)

ahhhh!!! who is she?! I haven't watched in forever!

Am I allowed to post it? There's no spoiler in the title...I'll put it on your wall just so I don't ruin it.

@tororojo: THANKS!!!! I just looked up some spoilers online but couldn't find out who GG is!

I was surprised that none of the spoilers/speculations online turned out to be wrong! I wanted to a little more surprised. But I did love William VDW's line about the Ivy Dickens Lifetime Movie!

Sadly I love Gossip Girl. It's one of our DVR date night shows. Looking forward to the finale.

I felt blah about it. Only an hour and they just quickly wrapped up everything. My friend and I were totally let down. It seemed like the writers had more to say and then realized it was only a half season to finish and just threw out the rest of the story lines.

@birdofafeather: Last night I was wondering what happened to Sage (okay, not that I cared a ton about her character) and decided that the last role she played was kind of a nice way to wrap things up for her.

OMG I want to know who it is, someone tell me please! I haven't watched it for, maybe two years? But I'm still interested in finding out who GG is!

Ugh, I thought the finale was so lame. It has been awful all this season though.
A few parts I liked, but mostly... I was just sitting there going "Really? This is how you're ending it? OK.... ". It was just all a little too neatly wrapped up for me.

I liked the final episode though I expected a bit more... I kind of wish it went out in a dramatic fashion.

If anyone didn't watch, here is a summary of the last episode that includes GG's identity: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20657481,00.html

I saw this thread and had to go watch it, lol. I was surprised at who it was, but not totally shocked. I was really confused at the ending of Lily, Rufus and William. Lily and Rufus share a peck on the lips, but then she goes to sit with William and he sits with a random woman wearing glasses. So Lily and William end up together, and his lying and affair with Ivy never comes out??

@MrsCB: I think so! Also, that chick with Rufus was Lisa Loeb--I figure they have the music connection going on.

@tororojo: @MrsCB: my neighbor and i thought the lisa loeb cameo was the best part. ha!

@birdofafeather: Ha, I loved that part too Although I instantly thought "I bet a lot of the younger viewers have absolutely no idea who she is!"

I love this show, I"m currently on the 4th season on Netflix, but I totally read the spoiler! Can't say I'm surprised at GG's identity or the way it ended (in general). But I'm still watching! It's a guilty pleasure so it's not like a more serious show where I get upset when the ending it ruined

@tororojo: @birdofafeather: LOL I had no idea that was Lisa Loeb! I guess the glasses should've given it away. I still don't like that Lily ended up with William, though. He's such a lying weasel.

I wasn't surprised by the reveal at all.
I wasn't a major fan of the ending either. It just seemed rather quickly summed up.
And while I'm normally a HUGE fan of the fashion on that show, I feel like the dress Serena wore in the end looked exactly like my Christmas Barbie circa 1989. Lol

@ValentineMommy: Oh yes. Her dress was horrible... was it just me, or was it insinuated that Jenny made it? (by the way I love how they pretty much ignored her existence throughout the entire pre-finale "behind the scenes" show).
LOVED Blair's though.

@alie: Right?!? I was totally shocked in that dress choice. And yes, Blairs - gorgeous! I also thought it was interesting how they brought Jenny back, and then just totally ignored her....same with Eric.

The finale was just "eh" - same like the rest of the season I suppose.
Am I the only dork that noticed the homage to SATC at the end? They played the same song to end GG as they did SATC.
pomelo / 5791 posts
@Andrea: I did! I was wondering if it was yet another plug for the Carrie Diaries, which aired like 38590237480123 commercials during the GG finale, lol.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@ValentineMommy: It very well could have been another plug! But I think it was more of a homage since they were SATC-ish for a younger crowd with their fashion. Plus the name of the episode was something like "New York, I Love You XOXO" which is very SATC-ish.

Awesome! I know this is 5 years too late but I just watched my first episode from season 1 today. Remembering there was HB talk about it, I searched and this was the first thread to pop up. I couldn't help myself. Confirmed I was right about the GG identity from day 1. Yay, me!! Of course the sensitive, witty, intellectual guy. Love it. Now to decide if I'll go back and watch the other 100 episodes in between.

@hellobeeboston: I miss it so so much. Probably my number one favorite show of all time. I think I've watched the entire show three times? I was actually just thinking yesterday it's been about a year since I've watched, I could start again
@808love: I would hate knowing that at the beginning! Throughout the show they try to make you think it's different people at different times and that's part of what makes it so interesting!
pomelo / 5866 posts
@Mrs. Pen: there are definitely clues revealing his identity but I can see how they tried to twist it a bit.
I decided there are too many episodes to watch at this point in my life so I am watching just the season openers and the finales! Just finished graduation episode. So much has changed already!! So interesting to see fellow bees who were also captivated by it.

@808love: oh man, it is so good! I'd take the time to watch the whole series. I watched it when it was originally on, and quit before it ended then just recently rewatched the whole series. I just watched an episode a day.
Have you all seen One Tree Hill? Another great CW show, probably my favorite TV series of all time!
