Anyone have the Graco Nautilus? Looking for another extra seat for the grandparents to use for our 3.5 year old. We have had other Graco seats and have been happy with them. Pros or cons to share? Any other reasonably priced options I should consider for an extra seat that won’t be used daily? Thanks!

I think that's the one we have! I'm happy with it! Some reviews say it's hard for kids to sleep in it; but mine doesn't nap all that much anymore so it's not an issue (and she has napped in it and her head didn't keep crashing down, or if it did I just roll up a little sweater to tuck on the side of her face (not impacting the carseat of course).

We don't have the nautilus, but I hear that it's a bit bulky.
We looked at the Harmony defender and the Graco Tranzitions/Wayz. They are both less expensive combination seats that will harness to 65lbs. I didn't want to spend a ton on a seat that's used once a month. We ultimately decided on the harmony defender for my Mom's car. I liked that it had a 10 year expiration and could potentially make it all the way through for both my kids and I didn't need to get my mom another seat. The nautilus also has a 10 year expiration, but the Tranzitions is only 7 years. Which isn't a big deal if you only want to get through one kiddo.

@jhd: I looked at the Tranzitions too but DD1 was only 2.5 so I wanted something more carseat like and the Nautilus is more comfortable.

@snowjewelz: good to know! It’s possible LO might take some longer car trips with this new seat so I definitely want him to be comfortable and able to nap if needed.

We have the Graco Nautilus and the Britax Frontier, and I actually prefer the Nautilus. My DD seems more comfortable in it, and I think the straps are easier to tighten. She has no problem sleeping in it.
