@Mrs. Tiger: I am sorry there are still more hurdles, when you're so close! I hope this is it. Do you guys have anything fun going on this month as a distraction?

@graceandjoy: he's in a sports camp thing which he loves, and our weekends are full of birthday parties and stuff, so I'm sure it will go by fast! He starts Kinder the following Tues, hoping he is back to his normal self by then

@Mrs. Tiger: So exciting! I hope everything will go as smoothly as possible so he can really soak in this fresh new start, being a big kindergartner AND no g-tube!! I know we don't know each other but having followed this journey all these years, I am so so happy and excited for all of you!

@Mrs. Tiger: same thing happened with my godson. The surgery was quick and easy and stopped the leaking. It’s too bad you have to wait so long though. Good luck!

@jhd: hasn't been great unfortunately, he's still in a bit of pain. Keeping him home from his first day of kindergarten today

@jhd: @Ms. RV: @yellowbeach: went to the ER last night and was admitted for IV antibiotics. His side had gotten very swollen and tender, they arent sure what's going on (since its not right at the surgical site) but the antibiotics seem to be helping at least. Guessing we will be here tonight as well - he's handling everything like a champ. Thanks for thinking of us

@Mrs. Tiger: I’m so sorry! I really hoped this would be simple and easy! Thinking of you all.

@Ms. RV: @jhd: here for at least one more day of antibiotics since he still has pain - they suspect cellulitis/skin infection from the surgery. He continues to be very brave, trying to catch little bits of fun as we can!

@Mrs. Tiger: aw sweet boy! I hope they are spoiling him rotten! Hopefully one more day of antibiotics does the trick.

@jhd: turns out the previous incision was super infected under the skin, they did a CT and saw a ton of fluid so did surgery to drain it out, out a wound vac to encourage healing/avoid another infection. He continues to handle everything in stride, even the wound vac which amazes me. He'll go back to the OR tomorrow and decide if he needs to keep the wound vac longer or if they can put a normal dressing.
His 6th Bday was yesterday - not how we planned on spending it!

@Mrs. Tiger: oh, your poor boy. He looks to be in good spirits—how are you and your husband holding up? I’m glad they found the infection on the scan—hopefully he’ll be all healed up soon and you can throw him a big belated party at home.

@Mrs. Tiger: yay!! Is he well enough for school now or will he need more time at home? I hope you all get to do something fun to celebrate his birthday!!

@luckygirl: @jhd: He's doing great, all healed up and back to his normal active self! So glad to be done with that mess. He did lose about 4 lbs at the hospital, working on bulking him back up. Thanks for thinking of us!
