My parents and Grandma and Grandpa.
My inlaws are Nana, Papa and Granddaddy firstname.
My inlaws already have other grandchildren so we just followed suit.
My parents are more traditional and this is what I grew up referring to their parents as.

My parents decided to be Nanny/Nan and Papa.
IL's are Vavu (FIL) and Vavo (MIL) which is Portuguese. FIL moved to canada from Portugal when he was 2... I find it a bit strange that my very non-Portuguese MIL suggested Vavo for herself, but it doesn't bother me.
My grandmother (Grammie) is GGT to her 20 great grand kids - "Great Grammie Taylor"

LO is 22 months and came up with her own names for her grandparents. My dad is baba, my mom is gramma-cookie (gee, could that have anything to do with the fact my mom always bakes cookies with/for LO ) and my MIL is "agwagga" (ah-gwah-ga) - have no idea where that last one came from, but it is definitely LO's name for her and only her! My FIL and step-MIL don't really have names yet but they don't see LO as often as the other grandparents.

Growing up we referred to my grandparents as Grandma/Grandpa last name. Out of all of my cousins no one ever made up their own names for them. Our nephews call my in-laws Pappy and MawMaw so our future kids will also use those names. My FIL is even listed as Pappy in my phone I am the oldest in my family so we'll have to wait and see what nicknames my parents get. I have a step mom too so that will be interesting because my mom doesn't like to share.

We had the grandparents choose as LO is the first grandkid on both sides. In-laws chose Grandma and Grandpa, my parents chose Mem and Pepere. (Mem because she didn't want to be called Memere...it sounded "too old"). BUT LO is not speaking yet, so who knows what she will actually call them!

My parents and my IL's chose what they wanted to be called since LO is the first on both sides. My parents are Nana and Papa, IL's are Grandma and Grandpa. Initially MIL wanted to be called Nana but was pissed when we called her "Nana Firstname" and my mom "Nana"... so she decided one day to be Grandma instead.
LO can't say Grandma and Grandpa yet, but calls them Gee-ma and Gee-pa (hard G sound).
