It think of it as a boys name, although a spelling of Gracen would make me think girl.

We looked at it for a boy name, but I could see it working for a girl too. I've just never known someone with that name who's a girl, which is why it leans boy for me.

I think it coul d go either way and as a hirl's name it would be really cool! Whereas it is totally typical as a boy's name.

This is one of our top two boy names right now, so I say boy, lol. We would use Gray as a nn.

@NaturallyCathy: I agree with you in principle but what about Alison? Is it one of those names that started out a boy's name?

@mrsmate: Allison, I'll give you. But then there's some boy's names, like Lindsey, that just make more sense as a girl's name. Grayson or Madison, though, are not one of them.

DS name is Grayson...so I think of a boy when I hear it. there was a female contestant on Top Chef whose name was Grayson though a year or so ago.

I think of it as a boy's name first but I think it would be adorable for a girl!!

It was on our short list of names for a girl; so obv I'm in favor of Grayson for a girl, with Grace or Gray for short. I don't like "Gracen"; it just looks off to me.

Girl!! I've only known girls with this name.
ETA: I think the two that I know, are spelled Gracen. Which might be girlier than "son" at the end?

I know a little girl named Grayson, but when I saw the title of the thread I immediately thought: boy.
