I am trying to get into a better habit of grocery shopping/cooking rather than our usual "let's see what we're feeling like tonight which turns into takeout" mode. While I start off the week well at the market and often cook a few dishes over the weekend, I find that I run out of ideas/energy by mid-week and surrender to takeout.

What techniques do you use to shop well and cook well, all while not spending your week or weekend in the kitchen? Any make-ahead recipes, ideas, or suggestions are welcomed!
