Obviously we all want to keep our little ones from swallowing non-food items but I didn't realize how dangerous button batteries were & how their effects are so lasting (not just the possible choking hazard).

Yeah. We pretty much got rid of everything in the house that uses these and only keep battery items that have screwdriver openings. Scary.
