Thanks to HB's reminding, I got her teachers cards w/ target giftcards. I rarely drop off/pick up so I just don't know them well enough to do anything more personal!

@snowjewelz: I'm sure they will appreciate it regardless!!!
A's room is going through a big teacher shift so I'm all sorts of confused on what to do for her teachers.

Cute poster!
I did target gift cards
@regberadaisy: In that case I would do some kind of edible tray (bagels, muffins, cookies, etc)

@Mamaof2: daycare started theme days this year (my suggestion! ) and the only two parent participated events are a parent funded breakfast Wednesday morning and small gifts on Friday. I'm making coffee cake muffins for the breakfast tomorrow morning. But I had planned on giving each of the girls 2 lead teachers and assistants a gift. Now DD2's room is just being filled in through the whole week. Even the teachers that will primarily be in there won't be in Friday.

It's Teacher Appreciation Week at my DD's school. Yesterday all the kids were asked to write a note and bring a flower from their garden (or wherever). Today I sent in some cute office supplies and wrote a card to the teacher. The last thing I have planned is a mid-day snack that I'll send later this week. All the other teachers like GT, music, are getting flowers or a gift card. PTA sponsors a big luncheon for the teachers.

@T-Mom: It never occurred to me to gift other than the main teacher!
Do you give to all of them? Gym? Library? etc
honeydew / 7488 posts
@Mamaof2: I didn't give to every single teacher.. just the ones who actually interact one on one with her. So that did not include gym or library... I gave them all gifts in first grade and I don't think they even knew who she was..

So, my son is in preschool and there were no formal activities, nor did I send anything. I appreciate what the staff does, do not get me wrong, but i also appreciate not having to do activities during the week on top of an already full end of year calendar.

I need to get my sh*t together and come up with something for the daycare teachers. I wish I could just slip them all cash and be done with it! I don't have time to get all pinterest-y like the other parents.

My girls are in two different places with different themes! But they are giving the same gifts regardless.
Yesterday they took starbursts to let their teachers know we think they are STARS!
Today we gave flowers. We made pen flowers for the teachers and Dove chocolate flowers for main teachers.
Tomorrow is paper/pen supplies. I haven't figured out the daycare yet, but the elementary teachers are getting dry erase markers.
Thursday is hands down ... we are doing hand sanitizer.
Friday is a JAR of fun. We filled up mason jars with M&M's. I have a poem that goes with it. This is also the day that I do my personal note to the teacher. Our elementary teachers are also getting bracelets. Daycare will likely get a target gift card.

For my elementary kiddo, we did gift everyone she interacts with. THey all know her by name and acknowledge her. This includes music teacher, art teacher, two PE teachers, librarian, janitor, counselor, her favorite teacher in the next grade up and the principal and assistant principal. And of course her teacher and the teaching assistant. We didn't gift them EVERY day, but did share the love with the starburst and the pen flowers because it was easy enough to do. They have all had a huge impact on making our first year of public school a success and I truly do appreciate them.

The school has a week of suggested activities for teacher appreciation week
Monday - it was favorite flowers day so we made flower bouquets with pens
Tuesday - favorite color day. The kids wore their teacher's favorite color to school and were supposed to draw a picture or write a thank you note. We found a printable on Pinterest where LO could write some stuff and draw a picture
Wednesday - teacher brunch. All the classrooms bring a brunch item for the teachers to enjoy (school distributed a list). Pre-k is doing coffee, tea and juices
Thursday - favorite things. We made little gift bags filled with their favorite treats and some small gift items (coffee tumbler)
Friday - teacher lunch. The school treats the teachers to a lunch and afternoon off while prentice volunteers and the school director do a movie day with the kids. The parents do a class gift on this day - we just pooled money together and got Target gift cards - easy peasy!

@psw27: we teachers love cash money!
My school has parent-donation theme days (Movie day, Breakfast, Spa boxes, Taco Lunch, Fondue day) and it's been great so far! For my kids' teachers, I gave them all cards with $10 inside (except my son's lead teacher because I found a cup I knew she'd love). I bought an 18-pack of earrings at target and let my son pick out a pair for each teacher (including specials like yoga and PE.)

Tomorrow is parent sponsored breakfast for the teachers. I signed up for coffee cake so the girls and I baked coffee cake muffins. I'm amazed we did that, made dinner, did bath, all on a solo night!
Friday is gift day and I'm putting together a movie night bucket. Redbox rental code, bag of microwave popcorn, their favorite candy bar (I asked), a target GC, and a handmade cArd. I plan to do a questionnaire with my 4 yo about why she loves her teachers. And a note from me for DD2's teachers. All in a reusable popcorn tub.
Monday the center bought lunch for the teachers, today they're taking all the teachers out, Thursday they're giving the teachers a small gift.

I forgot to say that my 3 year old dictated what I should write in the notes, so they were pretty freakin hysterical. We did just notes for the "floater" teachers and he said something he likes about each one of them.

We got each of the teachers and the director an orchid from the class.

Lol we get a sheet cake in our lunch room...no plates, forks, napkins, or anything else you might need to enjoy a cake. It's a good metaphor for teaching high school.
I missed our daycare activities. Apparently there was some online sign up but I wasn't invited to sign up so....I'll try to remember to pick up gift cards for the end of the week.

Our school just suggests one small gift or card on Thursday this week. I purchased 2 bottles of fancy flavored olive oil, smoked sea salt for dipping, and a loaf of bread from Panera to go with. I made a little card that says "Olive having you for a teacher dough much!" to hang from the bag.

I really went crazy on DS's teacher this year. She goes way above and beyond. Gift card one day, monogrammed tervis tumbler another day, card and shower bursts a different day, and a stationary the last day.
