yeah... I was in forever 21 a few months ago and when I asked for something in an XL (because all their clothes are TEENY) the guy looked at me and said they don't carry XL's, it's called a plus size section.

@PrincessBaby: I know... they are so freaking small. I wear a medium in WOMEN's clothes (like Loft, banana republic etc) I know I'm not fat... but god forbid I shop at forever 21 when I'm not a freakin 0. ugh. I was so upset with him.

My parents had a really hard time with my weight during pregnancy. They would always make comments. I lived with a whole host of variations on "look at you! You're huuuuge!". They also called me chubby and massive. My mom would always ask me to tell people how much weight I'd gained. It got old really quickly.

I think he just wants your money? You're not fat! Celebs aren't usually fat to begin with. They just want to get even hotter with the trainer's help.

Uh, my MIL told me my 'ass was expanding at the same rate as my stomach' when I was 15 weeks along. Almost 3 months later and I'm still pissed about it!

I feel like people do this a lot. Once I group of my friends were all getting into an SUV (more people than seats) and one of my friends said "either S (me) or I get the front b/c we have the biggest hips!". I realize she brought herself down as well, BUT she's 6'4", I'm 5'6". Grrrr!

I don't think the personal trainer thinks you're fat. I think he knows you're vulnerable because you just had a baby and therefore would be willing to dish out the cash.

My grandma used to call me fat all the time. Well she said I was getting a big tushy. To the point that I had to tell my mom I wouldn't go visit anymore unless she stopped. Even when I was pregnant. But then again she would tell me that LO ate too much when she was a newborn and I should take the bottle out of her mouth. Guess I shouldn't take her comments too personally.

My doctor, yesterday. Except it wasn't so much indirectly as directly, lol. He actually pissed me off.

Apparently, I gained 6 1/2 lbs in the last month...which isn't great, considering in the first tri, I already gained 11 lbs. But the first month of my second tri, I only gained like...1 1/2 lbs, and this month I was noticeably hungry and my belly went through a "growth spurt".

Anyway, I get that it's his job to tell me to watch my weight, and I'm fine with that (I weigh myself, so I'm aware of when I gain), but he just kept going and going and said if I keep gaining 6 1/2 lbs every month, I'm going to gain 26 more lbs, and then I'll be "well on my way to gaining 50 lbs total", and then I'll weigh 200 lbs, and then I'll be obese and will have to deal with type two diabetes (doesn't run in my family) and heart issues (doesn't run in my family) for the rest of my life.

This was my first time seeing this particular doctor in the practice. I was like, "slow down there, buddy. That's a whole lot of "ifs". Just because I gained 6 1/2 lbs from weeks 19-23 doesn't mean I will do that every month and a simple "you need to maintain your weight for the next month or two" would have sufficed.

When he finally let me ask questions about other stuff after the long lecture, I asked when my next blood test would be, because I'm feeling super exhausted and was wondering if my iron is low (I don't take an iron supplement and it's not in my prenatals)--his answer was "Well, you've gained almost 20 lbs in 5 months. If I was carrying an extra 20 lbs, I would be tired all the time, too.".

I wanted to tell him that I *just lost* about 20 lbs before my wedding, so it's not actually the first time I've been at this weight and I was *not* that tired before, but at that point I was done with him so I just got really steely until he apologized for being "blunt". Grrr.

Well, I've had people directly call me fat to my face since elementary school, so there have probably been some indirect times, too.

My sister did this to me. She was telling me her friend (who I hadn't seen in years) said "I don't want to stand next to (me) at your wedding, she will make me look huge!" And my sister told me she told her "oh, it's ok, she's not tiny like she used to be". Wow, thanks sis! She then tried to cover it by saying "I mean, you're more average now, not a stick like you used to be". Ok?

HA HA HA. Jerk.

My FIL once indirectly called my husband and me both fat. That went over GREAT....

Ha ha, some guy tried to pick me up (at a bus stop) when I was in college by saying "yo girl, you thick" like I was supposed to be so pleased by his compliment.

@grizz: my dad said the same exact thing about the freshman 15 when he picked me up at the end of the year! I told him he should never say that to a girl. (but I was super bloated at the time)

I've had ppl ask me if I was pregnant when I wasn't (I have ibs. I get bloated!) and once this girl was talking to Dh (then bf) and said something about how he liked bigger girls... Implying that his gf, sitting right there, was bigger I guess. I was a size 8 at the time. Weirdo.

@HLK208: Unfortunately, she's one of those people for whom I have to bite back any response save a polite smile.
