I took my DS#2 for his 15-month check-up last week, and he actually lost 1.5 pounds since his last appointment. My pediatrician was a little concerned since babies are supposed to gain weight at every visit, and asked that we come back in a month to re-weight him. He went from 95% in weight to 45%. We feed my DS#2 about every 3 hours since he seems to be hungry often. The only thing I attribute it to is switching from bottles to sippy cups. Since then, his milk intake has decreased from 20 ounces a day to about 4 to 10 ounces a day. However, he is eating a lot more solid foods, including a lot of yogurt and cheese since he isn't drinking much milk anymore.

DS#2 has always weighed more at each visit compared to DS#1 at the same age. Now, they are exactly the same.

Has anyone had their baby lose weight at a check-up, as opposed to gain weight?
