Too old, too young, too uneducated, too insensitive, too lazy, too immature, too career minded, too arrogant, etc?
My family has always liked DH. My mom definitely thought one of my exes was too immature, lazy and arrogant!

Nope, I joke that if we ever split up they'd keep him! I think because he was SUCH a vast improvement over my ex, he could do no wrong.

Does too white count? Haha, my mom wanted me with an Asian guy!

My family thought he was perfect.
@prettylizy: I make that same joke, that my family would keep him.

My mom immediately rejected Wagon Sr. because he was too SHORT for me! (we are the same height... well, I'm almost 5'6" and he's about an inch taller than me.) Once she met him a couple of times, she dropped the height thing and she loves him.

@autumnlove: yep! Her first question was "how tall is he?" She's got a height complex. Haha. I knew she'd immediately disapprove but once she met him, she couldn't hold on to something so superficial. After all, he met all her other expectations: ethnicity, religion, education, personality, respect level, etc.

nope not at all! My parents saw right away that DH is perfect for me.
My previous boyfriend they said was too controlling, too overpowering, and too manipulative for me and they were right. He crushed my spirit and I didn't even realize it.

Nope they all love him...seriously if Im snotty with him or something minor in front of my family they immediately stand up for him and yell at me!

@Mrs. Pen: Dang, your ex doesn't sound very nice!

@autumnlove: he was nice and I truly loved him and don't regret our relationship because I learned and grew from it, but we definitely were not compatible. I am way too independent for someone who wants to dictate their family. He went as far to say that I was getting "pudgy" and needed to start working out and eating differently
I was nowhere even near over weight... Ugh.

My mom didn't like DH at first. When we first started dating DH had some issues. We went to counseling though and he's a much different person. Now my parents like him.

They thought he was too wild because he jokingly gave me a hicky one night and I had to explain it when I saw them. And they knew he didn't come from a good home. Now they love him, very much.

@mrs. wagon: height complex? That's a weird thing for a mom not to like.
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@littlek: My mom is barely 5'0" and always had a complex about height, so while we were growing up she always prayed for me to reach 5'6" (which I almost did... 5'5.5"!) and my brother to reach 5'10" (which he didn't. I won!) She always wanted me to end up with a tall guy. But considering his height was the only fault she found with him, she quietly dropped the complex and never mentioned it again!

Nope! They looooooooooove DH. My grandma always tells me how I have the best husband ever. :))
And like @Mrs. Pen: my exes were a-holes. So they were the ones who got judged.

My grandmother once told me that he was too young for me. DH is older than I am, but has a total baby face and still gets carded all the time.
