My brother once dated a good friend of mine and at first I was excited for them. Then my friend stopped being my friend and started acted superior to me and felt I was beneath her. When they broke up, we were never friends again. Since then I've forbidden my brother to even so much as to ask me about any single friends I might have. And if my friends ask to be set up with my brother, I give an evil eye and say, "I don't think so."
Anyone been in such a situation? How did it turn out?

My brother married one of my friends. We met in high school, we had freshman biology together, and she was in guard and I was in band. She met my brother at a new years party at my house. And they started dating.... and kept it a secret for 6 months.
When they finally told me, she kept appologizing and saying that she thought I'd be so upset. Well if you thought I'd be so upset, why did you do it? I wasn't upset that they dated, I was upset that they kept it a secret.
But she's been my SIL for 6 years and it is nice having a friend as a family member. There's always a friend at every family function I go to.

@Rubies: I actually ended up marrying one of my brother's friends! They weren't bff's, but they hung out because they had mutual friends. We didn't meet through my brother though, I met him at temple.

My twin brother dated one of my friends for a blippin' minute in high school, and then he dated someone who was in my circle of friends but I wouldn't call her my friend. My other brother had a girlfriend who I became good friends with and am still close to today despite their breaking up.
I don't really have a lot of friends now days, and the ones I do are all married or in serious relationships, so I don't expect it to happen from now on.

I dated my bff's cousin! It was awkward for a while, but friendship is thicker than blood! 
hahah. She and I are still bffs post breakup. It was a pretty bad break up too.

I dated one of my brother's friends. It was super awkward and my brother's not the type to try to do anything to stop something like that. It didn't last long and he wasn't really friends with my brother after that.

Both my stepbrother and my stepsister dated people from my group of friends. With my stepsister it wasn't so bad, but my stepbrother was a total player, and when he hurt inevitably left them, it hurt my friendships a lot. I tried warning them whenever he'd start sniffing around, but they all thought they'd be different, and be the one to make him settle down...

My brother married my best friend! It was super weird when they started flirting (she was my college roommate, and he came to visit) and I had some issues with it for a while. But now it's awesome to have her as a sister-in-law, too.
