I gained quite a bit of weight, sadly. I lost a bunch of it, but am really pushing hard now to lose the rest of it.
Has your SO gained weight since you guys moved in together (or got married)?

no! i actually did right before we were ttc last year. dh loses weight when he doesn't work out and also eats less, so he's lost weight!
he's getting back to his workout regiment now, so should be packing on some muscle weight!
pomegranate / 3204 posts
No! My DH can't gain weight it seems! He weighs around 145 an has weighed that forever! It was embarrassing bc I weighed more than him when pregnant!
eggplant / 11287 posts
Yep he went from 155 to about 163. But he is still a tiny thing.
grapefruit / 4800 posts
He's probably lost some, . I know he weighs less since we started dating vs before we started dating. He has to make sure he stays faster than me Plus he switched to a mainly vegetarian diet.
grapefruit / 4554 posts
He's lost weight. He went from 210 to 175 and he's the biggest health freak I know now.
pomelo / 5178 posts
Yes, but we're both working on getting healthier and dropping some pounds. Our kids have been big motivators!
pomegranate / 3716 posts
Yep, he gained about 40 - 45 lbs over the course of 4 or 5 years, but then he lost 40 lbs last year and is almost back to his original weight when we first met. (Unfortunately, I am FAR from my original weight, bah humbug).

He's gained a little bit and this is going to sound terrible, but I feel a bit relieved that he has. He's a gorgeous man and the little itty bitty chub on his belly makes me put less pressure on myself to be perfect for him. Not that I'm planning on letting myself go or anything.

DH can't gain weight... I wish I had that problem! I think he's lost weight since getting married.
pomegranate / 3204 posts
@Rainbow Sprinkles: lol he's 5'9! Is that short for a guy? I'm 5'5!
pear / 1837 posts
Yeah, we've both gained. When we met and got married, we were grad students with a LOT of free time. Now we have full-time jobs and long commutes and a baby. DH still works out a lot, but not the 2+ hours he'd spend at the gym with friends when he was in school.
pomelo / 5789 posts
Mine has gained about 30 lbs since we moved in together.
He used to run a lot as part of his job, and he ate his mama's cooking every night.
Now he doesnt exercise and he eats my cooking which tends to have a lot of dairy.
clementine / 780 posts
Yup! He was tall and skinny, know hes more filled out.
Now he is working on "bulking" up and I'm working on leaning out lol
pomegranate / 3716 posts
@mrbee: We both joined Weight Watchers last year and he was really successful on it! I think he lost about 30 lbs on WW, and we tracked our food and went to meetings maybe 3x a week. He also got a lot more active - biking to work and working out during his lunch hour.

He's gone up at least one pant size, maybe two. But, he was skinny minny before, so it looks good on him.. He hates it, though.
eggplant / 11287 posts
@mrsaudi: I would say it is probably average? You guys are the perfect distance apart in height!
kiwi / 629 posts
Yeah. Quite a lot actually, thought I don't know how much.
He's never been super skinny, but he's got a definite weight problem now. It's probably all my fault. I have a super fast metabolism so I can eat whatever and I rarely exercise. I'm a bad influence....

He started working out again recently and gained some more muscle, so he's gained about 10 pounds.
pineapple / 12234 posts
About 12 pounds. Same here though. We've both talked about getting down to our pre-baby weights haha.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
He's gained about 30lbs since we've been together, and while he's mentioned he wants to lose it, he doesn't actively do anything to actually lose the weight. Sad face.

Yep, we both gained about 30 pounds in the 3 years since we moved in together. In January of this year we decided to make a change and started to go on daily walks, lifting light weights, making some healthier choices, and now he's lost all the weight! I'm a bit behind right now, about 10 pounds to go, and I swear all he has to do is THINK about losing weight and it happens
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Yup, he has gained a lot since we got together. When we first started dating, he was too skinny, coming off of a diet. I had to fatten him up. I did a REALLY good job.
pomegranate / 3890 posts
nope, he's stayed teh same pretty much. he just lost weight and got his stomach all nice and toned, im jealous. totally jealous.
persimmon / 1453 posts
In the four years since we started dating, DH has gained a lot. I tell him it's a sign that he's much too happy and content.
I didn't gain weight until I got pregnant, and now I've probably gained as much as he has!
bananas / 9628 posts
his weight fluctuates, when we first moved in together he was in the middle of training for a competition, so he's just dropped 15lbs, then he gained that bad plus a bit for our wedding, then lost some. he's always considered 'overweight' even though he's all muscle, like ridiculously muscular! there's not much fat to him, if he was overweight in an unhealthy way, i'd worry about him, but he's overweight in a jacked way, so i'm ok with it =) i on the other hand have gained more weight than i'd like to admit, like gone from an eating disorder skinny to significantly overweight. not my proudest admission!
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
He's gained maybe 15 lbs, but he looks different because he's lost muscle definition and gained fat. I really can't say anything about it though - I gained A LOT of weight after we got married, like 50 lbs!
pear / 1787 posts
He has actually lost weight and gotten more fit. I, on the other hand...oy.
kiwi / 678 posts
He gained a bunch of weight when we moved in together and gained a bunch more when I was pregnant with my first. But, he's lost almost all of it in the last few years and he looks great now!
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
No but he gained a whole ton as soon as he got home from Afghanistan. He is working on losing it now.
pomegranate / 3983 posts
We've both fluctuated a bit but overall I think he is more fit than when we met. A lot of it has to do with the fact that we eat really healthy at home, so it's hard to gain weight when there's no junk around.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
Boo yes, both of us. I'm blaming it on the stupidly large plates that we registered for. Portion control is out the window!!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
We both did. However I was only 20 so I was still "growing". I was a late bloomer. I was skinny my whole life and didn't start gaining weight until I was 19.
DH used to be obsessed with working out and definitely relaxed after marriage
persimmon / 1472 posts
@mrsaudi: DH is also 5'9" an weighs right around 145! I surpasses his weight by week 16 when I was preggers and kept trying to fatten him up to feel better. He eats a ton but loses weight if he doesn't work out religiously. I wish I had that problem.
DH has gained weight since we got married - he used to be 135! He is very tall and lean. I gained 9 lbs from marriage to pre-baby but now I am below wedding weight due to lack of sleep and breast feeding. He's maintained his weight gain and he's actually looking to gain another 5-10 lbs.
honeydew / 7968 posts
i didn't gain much weight - not sure how much i weigh post-pregnancy, but he unfortunately gained a lot more. =T
pomegranate / 3225 posts
DH is really type A about keeping his weight the same as when we got married. He's always on a diet and is a marathon runner. Makes me feel bad because I'm 37 weeks pregnant and up 50 lbs since my wedding, if I'm honest with myself!
