The whole football team in my high school (other than the one Jewish football player) thought it was the funniest thing to say that things were "jewed down." I have a feeling some of them didn't even know what it meant, but it still hurt. One of them said it to me once and when I didn't laugh said, "oh, I forgot you were Jewish." Yeah, that's why you shouldn't say that to me, because I'm Jewish and not because it's stupid and mean.

I've heard lots of things like that, I especially hate the Jew joke about ashtrays and the Holocaust. I've been to Auschwitz and it's no joke.

I do worry that LO will have to hear things like that too. Have you experienced racism, and are you affraid your LO will have to deal with it too?
