Both of my parents smoked around me from age 0 - 18 years. Ack!

Yep. Parents, boyfriends, and friends have all smoked around me my whole life. So glad DH doesn't!

My dad smoked all my life and still does (though he's cut down a lot in attempts to quit before LO gets here).
I was a smoker from 22-28. I quit last Fall before TTC. Never looking back!

Not when I was younger, but I'm exposed somewhat now. My parents never smoked (neither did I), but DH's parents smoke pretty heavily. We are around them a lot and we even lived with them for a few months.

All my life until maybe 6 years ago. My mom still smokes but is extra careful around me or Mavi. My FIL smokes like a chimney, but he's sick and don't want to nag him about it.

Yep. My mom smokes, my aunts smoke, and so does my grandmother. My aunt even smoked while pregnant.

Nope thank goodness...I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke.

My dad smoked when I was really little but never inside the house. All my friends smoked, many still do. DH & I have never been smokers though

My grandfather smokes, 2 of my brothers smoke, and my husband smokes. I've been around a lot of second hand smoke. But my husband is 'supposedly' not allowed to smoke in the car when I or the baby are not there.

I haven't! Ive smelled quite a bit of 3rd hand smoke though! Not so much lately.

I have. My Dad was a really good bowler, so therefore my brother and I began bowling at a very early age and continued until we went to college. Heavy heavy smoke in that bowling alley.

Almost no one in my family smokes and I didn't grow up around it at all. DH was exposed to it from his mom, aunt, and uncle as a teen/adult.
Our neighbors smoke (duplex) and the smell comes through the walls. That alone is enough to drive me out of the house.
I can't stand it, it's a filthy habit!

Yep and firsthand as well, tho I was a very light smoker. All my friends smoked.... I quit before I moved to new York 9 years ago.

Yes, my dad smoked until my uncle died of lung cancer when I was in high school. Both of my IL's still smoke, and do around my son (only outside) and it still drives me crazy.

@Leialou: was the baby ok? My ex-boss smoked while pregnant AT WORK (talk about not caring what people think) and her baby came out fine.

No. The only person in my life that smokes is my ex, and he would try to lie and tell me he didn't so he would never do it around me.

I was a smoker from 17-26 (haven't had a smoke since 2 weeks before we got our positive sign) and don't plan on looking back. I only smoked when I was around other's who did or when I was having a few drinks, so luckily I never went through withdrawls, as I was more of a social smoker..
Secondhand smoke only from being outside with other smokers, neither of my parents smoked.

@andrea My cousin is a perfectly healthy four year old today. Thank goodness.
