My honeymoon was my first time out of the country, i've only been to Jamaica and the Bahamas. I love to travel, but we just don't get the chance or have the extra income to do it as often as I would like. Someday when kids are older I hope to really take some adventures!

@locavore_mama: Canada DOES count *waves Canadian flag furiously*
Haha yes we have, multiple times.

Yep. I've been to 7 countries in Europe + Mexico. Ironically I've never been to Canada, even though I've lived my whole life less than 4 hrs from the border haha.

@Reese: hahah Canada is literally 45 minutes from me! hahaha It's SO easy for me to get there I consider it like a another state.

I have! I've lived in the US, UK, and Australia, plus travelled to 33 other countries as well. My goal is to hit all seven continents - just two left to go, South America and Antarctica!

@Ree723: @looch: my BIL is close, and believe it or not the only continent he has left to visit is EUROPE!!
Yes! I've been to: Canada, many countries in Europe on one of those bus tours (UK, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands), and France again. And Aruba. That's it... I'm of east Asian descent and never been to Asia!

@locavore_mama: Haha , I feel you. I drive across the border to shop every once in a while. I am always annoyed that I need to bring my passport because it seems so close.

Almost every year I try to do a big trip out of country. So far I've hit.. China, HK, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Turkey, Italy, Switzerland, Iceland, Ireland, UK, France, Spain, Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Canada! We eventually want to hit every continent.

I am just not sure how reasonable it will be to think I am getting to Antarctica!
I have South America and Australia remaining (excluding Antarctica).

Yep. I've been to the US, Mexico, Italy, Greece, Jamaica and Dominican Republic.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Canada, Australia, Europe, and Asia.
I'd love to visit all the continents, but like @looch:, not sure how feasible that will be! Maybe I should try visiting all the countries instead....

Yes! Spent most of my 20s traveling as much as possible in mostly Europe and Central America. Lived abroad in Brazil (a year), Bangladesh (a summer), and Australia (6 months). Still need to get to Africa!
pomegranate / 3779 posts
@looch: @Leialou: @Ree723: my goal too! I've hit 5 so far, just missing Africa and Antarctica, but like looch, I'm not sure how reasonable Antarctica is.
pineapple / 12526 posts
Yes. I've been all over the states, plus England, Scotland, France and Monaco.

I live out of the US, and have lived abroad for more than 6 years cumulatively. I've been all over Europe, Central America, a few countries in Asia and to Morocco.

@stine_ciro: Oh I've already got my Antarctica trip planned out....just need the funds and the time to do it! I plan on flying into BA, travelling down through las Pampas and Patagonia to get to Ushuaia, then onto a ship to cross the treacherous Drake Passage and finally into zodiac boats to get up close and personal with the icebergs and penguins!
G Adventures (my favourite travel company) has an 11 day trip (Ushuaia to Antarctica) for only $5000. I'm thinking a fifth anniversary trip for DH and I, in two years time!

Canada and Mexico so far, but I want to go further! Europe is next on our list.
pomegranate / 3244 posts
Yup. First trip abroad was to go skiing in france :-). I also spent a year in Honduras as a HS exchange student. Ive traveled around Europe a bit (Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France). From 2007-2011 I lived and traveled around South America, including Chile, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador (where I met my husband).

Ya, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Croatia, Italy, France and Germany.

@Ree723: O M G !!!! 5k for 11 days is amazing! I haven't come across G Adventures in my research, but you've used them before and would recommend them? All the other tours I saw were 7k+, I was preparing to have to spend upwards of 20k including flights to go to Antarctica.
grapefruit / 4817 posts
Very little, unfortunately. Lots of trips in the Caribbean and one trip to Costa Rica. Two trips to Mexico (gulf side), and that's it. I haven't been on a flight longer than 2.5 hrs to reach another country, so my options are limited. I hate flying.

@Ree723: oooh are they national? Is it with a travel tour group or individual? We dont' do tour groups!
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
Yes! I'm from England and aside from the US and Canada have done India, Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, Poland, Germany, The Canaries, Monaco, Morocco... I think that's it for now.
ETA: I should count Wales and Scotland too!
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@Ree723: Ok, that's interesting, I admit! But kind of long? I think I would only need like 5 days max in Antarctica. I know I wouldn't ever get back there, but I still need to account for getting to South America!

Yes; I am really thankful to have parents that took me traveling and allowed me to see the world. I live in the US and have been to China, Malaysia, Australia, Canada, Mexico, France, Italy, & London. I feel like I'm missing something!
I am soo blessed by them because as a working adult & now married woman TTC-ing, there is def not as much of a budget to travel.
I reaaaaaaally want to visit Eastern Europe & the Scandinavia area!
bananas / 9628 posts
