I'm sorry that you are disappointed. That's never fun, especially if you were looking forward to them!

But, I have to admit, I think this is a case of "you get what you pay for."

I was pretty disappointed in our wedding photos... they were "natural", which I liked, but the photographer gave us NO direction, so there is ONE shot of the two of us where we're both looking at the camera. One. There was a 2nd shooter, so in all of the others, we're either both looking away from the camera, or one is looking at one and one is looking at the other.
It took me a long time to get past it and to find photos in the bunch that I did like, to the point where I just printed photos to put in our house, and our wedding was over two years ago.

I was pretty disappointed with our wedding photos and also with our newborn photos. With both photographers, for whatever reason, I felt like they strayed from their respective signature styles with our sessions.

Yes I hated my wedding pics, I had to do lots of editing to them myself and a lot of them were missing. I guess I blame myself because we went with a friendor

maybe if you say that you understand that it's a fundraiser, but would she be willing to do another sitting at a discount, or do some editing for you. I would think she would try and work with you, since I doubt you would want to recommend her to any of your friends now unless she shows some good customer service, right?

@Coco Bee: Yikes, i'm sorry the pictures didn't turn out. I would probably say something, especially if it's a matter of them editing a few pictures. I was only happy with a handful of photos that our photographer took during a lifestyle family session, and asked if she could re-edit one so that it wouldn't look so overexposed (LO's face looked ghost white). It may be a bit awkward, but if she's professional she should understand.

That stinks I'd email and politely ask why there is such a disparity between what you received and what she advertises. Even if it was a fundraiser, that sounds shady to me! I don't know why she'd want an unhappy customer out there, and if I were a photographer I'd want a chance to make it right.

@Mrsbells: We got screwed by a friendor too. We will never make that mistake again!

That sucks! I would definitely let the main photog know and show her the images you got. I'd say that I was not at all looking for a refund and that I was happy to contribute to the fundraiser, but I wanted her to know that I was really disappointed and wanted to make her aware of the quality her second shooter was producing. I'm sure she'd want to know, since it reflects poorly on her talent and business.

That stinks. I am also another person who has almost always been disappointed with pro-pics. Not sure what to do about that!
