I can transition her, like if she fell asleep in the car, I can move her to the crib and she'll be awake for a few minutes. But, if she wakes up on her own shortly after going down, nope, never! I have more success just starting the next nap sooner.
For this reason, afternoon naps that end prematurely are no fun!

Niiiice!
I've managed it on a couple of occasions but it usually involves boobs and a nap for both of us!

good for you! we can do it about once a week since he gets in the habit of waking after only an hour.

If she wakes up after 30 mins, we leave her in there for 10 mins and sometimes she goes back to sleep and sometimes not. This afternoon it took 15 mins but she went back to sleep for 45 mins.

Maybe like twice? No dice today though. But I did put her back down after 2hrs for another nap.
But if it's like @Smurfette: says, I will try to leave her in the crib and sometimes she can fall back asleep on her own for another 1/2 hr.

Never successful! Once she is up she is up!
@Smurfette: when she wakes up after 30 and you leave her in there does she cry? My DD ALWAYS takes crappy 30 min naps in her crib and I've tried to leave her but she would cry hysterically!!! Once I get her she is happy again and ready to play. Gah!

I used to be able to sometimes, when she was really teeny. Now, maybe once in ten times if she wakes after half an hour and I let her be she will fall back asleep with just some fussing. The rest of the time she fusses for a while then starts crying and she's up. I'm pretty sure if she gets to one full sleep cycle (38 minutes) then wakes, she's up. If it's before 38, that's when she might go back.

i guess so because LO got up before i was ready to wake up for the day, so i changed and nursed her and then put her back in her crib with some toys. i woke up an hour and a half later and she was passed out! naps are usually no gos though!

@dolphin: Usually if she cries then she doesn't go back to sleep. She talks to herself usually and then will go back to sleep.

Nope. Nothing I can do works--if she's awake and can't put herself back to sleep after half an hour, I get her up and she's usually happy enough.

I can do it, around 75% of the time. Usually it's just that his pacifier has fallen out of the crib and if I replace it he curls right back up. Yesterday it happened twice during one nap!
