I fell this afternoon and think I broke three toes. I'm going to get an x-ray because I can't put any weight on my foot!
Have you ever broken a bone? I haven't (before).

Yep. My wrist in 2 places when I was a toddler (probably about 3 years old) and my foot when I was 13.
I think I broke or very badly injured my toe/foot a couple years ago but never went to the dr for it.

When I was 3 I broke my femur. I was in the hospital in traction for 6 weeks, then afterwards I spent a few months in a wheel chair and half body cast.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: oh no!!! i hope they aren't broken!
yeah, i've broken quite a few. some worse than others. a compound fracture of my radius and ulna (forearm) was the worst of mine, it's still crooked & gives me problems even after having it rebroken & set.

When I was 5 I was swinging on a swing in our basement, and fell off and smashed my elbow on the concrete floor. I never got one of those colorful plaster casts that people could write on and I was sooo upset. My mom also didn't take me to the doctor right away because she thought it was maybe just bruised and apparently I didn't cry that much. The next day in kindergarten we made hand prints and the teacher grabbed my arm and HOLY MOLY I still remember how bad it hurt! I started screaming and my mom picked me up to take to the doctor.
When I was in college I smashed my foot against the side of the tub when I was getting out of the shower (so embarassing) and dislocated 3 toes and broke one!!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: that sounds terrible! I hope you can find some pain relief!
I'm an ultimate klutz, but surprisingly I've only ever broken a pinky finger and a big toe (as I frantically look around for wood to knock on!).

@MediaNaranja: Ahh! Your entire post made me cringe! Those injuries sound so painful! I would also be pissed about not getting a cast, haha.

I broke my collar bone when I was 4. I had shoved my head through one sleeve and my legs through the other of an oversized sweater and was wiggling around on the floor. Then I tried to go down the stairs...

@ Mrs. Jump Rope - Ouch, hope you are OK!
I broke a collar bone when I was 4 when I fell down the stairs. I broke my arm when I was 9 and tripped over a kid who was sitting on the ground and I did not see. And I broke my other collar bone when I was 16 in a car wreck. I sure hope LO doesn't turn out as clumsy as me.

I broke my left arm when I was around 7. Fell off a bench.
Broke my tailbone twice. Once falling off a bike and and once snowboarding.

@pui: Sorry this made me laugh for some reason! It's totally something that I would do at that age!

Not broken, just a bone contusion!
We were out getting the mail this afternoon & a neighbors dog got loose. It ran toward us and Chloe got scared. I grabbed her and ran, and fell on our driveway. She's fine, but my shoulder, left foot & both knees are scraped.
I am limping and can't really bend three toes. X-ray says no fracture. Doctor says its a soft tissue injury & I got a fancy blue shoe.

I've had two stress fractures in my feet, but those aren't "true" breaks so I don't count them. And I broke my pinky toe after I stubbed it on an ottoman. That's it though!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: oh no, you poor thing! Make sure you try and rest, broken toes are so painful!!
Yep, I've broken a few toes, and my wrists (2 x left, once right).
And, wait for it, when my 10 pound baby turned at 35 weeks, he broke my rib. Yep, you read that right. Ouch.
